Anyone use the Dillon Swage 600 to remove mil crimps?

Also need to buy a case trimmer.  Any one better or easier to use than others?

Yes, I use the Dillon 600.  Should have bought it first instead of messing around w/ the RCBS and CH4D tools.  Once the Dillon is set you can breeze through a thousand cases in no time.  A simple rubber band and an anchor point makes for a simple auto eject function.  It?s worth every penny if you process military brass.  The only thing better is an automated 1050 w/ the built in swager.

Case trimmers depend on what you want.  If you want versatile the Forster Products trimmer is the best option.  You can ream, neck turn and hollow point bullets on it as well.  If you want speed something along the lines of the WFT is what you should buy.  If I didn?t load for so many cartridges I would buy a few.  Instead I went w/ the three way trimmers and drill adapter on the Forster.  It helped that I owned three of them already.

I've got one of the old Forster trimmers and it worked great for 15 or 20 years before the cutter head wore out.  While I was looking for a new cutter head I bought a couple of cheap Lee case trimmers you clamp in a drill.  The cutters on the don't last very long.  I run them on .223 till they're dull and then use a sharpie to write .30 cal. on them and put them in a jug.  Hopefully, the fall/winter, I'll finish wearing them out on all that .308 brass I bought last winter.

I finally found/bought a cutting head for the Forster but just kept using the Lee units they're so cheap/easy to use.  I will say the Lee units will vary a few thousands from one unit to another.  Saw that on .223 about 3 years ago.  Thought it was me doing something wrong with a tool so simple you can't mess it up.  Got to checking three different ones (two I was using and new one in the wrapper/plastic) and it was a variance in the guide shaft that the Lee tool uses to control case length.  Not enough to worry about as I don't crimp the case mouths on rifle ammo anyway.

Yup. I had been using the Dillon Super Swage 600 for both .223 and .308. Makes it easy to remove military crimp on brass.

For trimmer, I had been using the WFT. I just chuck it into my drill and trim away.

I've always cut out crimps with a chamfer tool of a countersink chucked into a drill, but the Dillon is worth owning it you are doing a large wot cases.

For trimming I've used a Forster lathe type since the late 80's. Get the drill adaptor for it and with a bit of practice it is very fast.  Neck turners, neck reamers, hollow pointers and other accessories are available for it also. I've never regretted buying mine.
