My P07 just got a big brother
« on: October 16, 2018, 07:16:54 PM »
My favorite local LGS for all things CZ was running a special on P09 duty?s for $399. I got off early from work, and found myself there. Big mistake.  ;D O0

I looked at a P10c, which I plan to eventually add as well, but the P09 was just so smooth, and with the discounted price, I couldn?t resist. I also love decocker models, so that was all she wrote. This is CZ #10 for me. They should set up an addict hotline.

Plans are:

LOADS of rounds down the pipe, some +2 mags for it, Talons, and voila! New bedside pistol.

Like you, I got a P07 first.  That lead to a P09 which lead to another P09.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

No duty.  Congratulations.

How is the DA pull?  Smooth and even? Grit? Stacking?

Congrats.  I did the opposite and started with the big brother P09 then got the P07. :D. I highly recommend the CGW short reset kit and associated hammer spring.  Loved it so much that I ordered one for the P07 too.  It's supposed to show up tomorrow.

Thanks fellas!!! Really impressed with it so far, taking it out to run it tomorrow.

M1A4ME: Nice!!

Brian, the DA pull is smooth and even, and nice and heavy. I?d guess around 10-11lb? Single action is effortless, smooth. I?d guess in the 4-5lb range. The slide is the easiest to rack of any of my CZ?s, safely.

Arndog, gorgeous collection! Love them all! I?ll definitely check that out.

Cyanide: thank you sir!

I actually decided to mix it up and try the grip tape from Springer Precision and also got some Red hard anodized Base Plates while I was on the site. $10 for the grip and $18 each for the base plates, can?t beat that! Should look exactly like this once they arrive.

This rig is extremely light for its size. I?m sure I?ll get loads of enjoyment and satisfaction out of it.

On a scale of 1-10, how hard are these kits to install?

Interested in this as well. Is this a good DIY project or something better suited for a smith?

It wasn't too difficult.  Watched a YouTube video for reference and had it done in under half an hour.  I'll see if I can find the video I used this afternoon since my kit is supposed to show up today.

The following video should be helpful for the slide work and it's the same guy above,

The hardest part is re-installing the decocker spring.  Having a tool is the only way I know how - there is a thread with a tool on this site, or you can file a notch in a jeweler's flat head screwdriver.  Even then it took me 40 minutes once to do lock the end in position.  Other than that it is pretty easy.  Change the trigger return spring while you are at it.
