Best way to SBR the carbine model with stock handguard?

Hey all,
I am wanting to replicate the Military Arms Channel build with the pistol length barrel with omega 9k tucked under the factory hand guard. After doing some research it seems that there are some issues that I would have to overcome to achieve my end goal. I wish it was as easy as buying a short barrel and installing it and be good to go. Apparently that is not how it works with these guns and I am rather new to the platform. Could anyone advise me on the best way to go about it?

Issues I've come up with through research:
1) Cut the stock barrel and then I need a new aftermarket hand guard.
2) Buy a new barrel but then I might have to buy a new lower receiver or modify the upper.
3) Deciding what mounts/adapters/pistons to use to achieve the flush look on the stock hand guard.

Does the gen 2 pistol barrels fit on the carbine?
Does the improved barrel nut work on the carbine length hand guards with a new or cut barrel?
If I were to start with the pistol form, how would I attach the hand guard off my carbine (since it's difficult to buy the hand guard at the moment *oos)?

I own the carbine version, but not opposed to having a pistol.

You're making this more difficult than it has to be.

You can have Buhler Ballistics cut your carbine barrel down and thread it for 1/2x28, or you can purchase a pistol barrel from CZ or second hand. Carbines are all gen 2, so if you find someone selling a gen 2 pistol barrel you can use that, or purchase one from CZ. You can also use a gen 1 barrel without issue, you would just need to purchase an M18x1 mount for your can. You would use the carbine barrel nut with any barrel you use.

For the suppressor you would need a fixed mount in 1/2x28 or 18x1.

I SBR'ed my carbine, and just had the barrel cut down to 8" and threaded 1/2x28.  No problems with the original handguard fitting, and my Mystic X only extends like 2-3" out front of the guard.  Pricing can vary, but my shop did the cut/crown/thread/engraving for like $150.

One thing of note however, is that you will have some fun reaching the muzzle of the barrel if you want to clean or make adjustments to your barrel adaptor should it get stuck.

depends on what type of supressor.

Myself, I use the lo-pro fba from Liberty....and when I tighten the supressor onto the threads, often times when I go to remove it, the adaptor likes to stick on the barrel.  Luckly, the adaptor has an intergrated hex design that I can assess with a standard deep well socket.  If you were to put on a threaded tri-lug adaptor, you would need to take the handguard off to put it on or make adjustments.  Bottom line is that the muzzle of the weapon will be completely out of reach with the carbine length handguards...so whether you direct thread or tri-lug...just realize that if something gets stuck or needs adjustment....you could find yourself SOL.  Of course, it all depends upon what type of suppressor you put on, and what kind of mounting sytem it uses.
