Would you trust this 75B magazine?
« on: November 22, 2018, 11:27:42 PM »
Hope I put this topic in the right subforum..... Anyway....

Saw this mag for sale on CDNN Sports, and was curious if anyone had any experience with these mags. The brand is called "original Equipment" (really generic name for a mag brand, unless the site means the original manufacturer is CZ).

Any thoughts or experiences?

Never used one but at the very least if it functions properly it would be good enough for range use. Greg Cote has CZ 75 standard 16 rnd mags for $20.95 manufactured by Mec-Gar and they make all of CZ's factory mags.

You could call CDNN and see what they say.

The ad does include the text:  CZ 75 85 16RD 9MM OE BLUE MAGAZINE SAME MFG AS CZ

I'm kind of curious why they wouldn't just say it's a Mecgar magazine, if it is a Mecgar magazine.  All that beating around the bush about OE, etc. does make is kind of suspicious.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Which is why I'm confused as to why the listing just doesn't say 'Mec-gar'.

might be because MecGar won't let them if they are seconds, overstocks or ???
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

So would you say it's a Mec-gar mag then?

When I Bing CZ7515M I get few returns. This site shows an old listing the sku CZ7515m and as Manufacturer part #11101.
But, it also has the same weird description. [emoji848]
http://www.climags.com/cz-magazine-cz-75-9mm-16-round-oe-mag/

CZ USA shows manufacturer part # 11101 as the actual factory mag. So by that thinking CDNN?s are factory mags. [emoji53]
http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/11101_Mag-Cz-7585-9mm-16rd

The weird description is what makes me leery. Factory mags are made by Mecgar, just to different specs due to copyright.
But if they are trying not to say ?factory? or even ?Mecgar? that makes me wonder if they aren?t really Promag or ACT-mag. Those are the only other companies that make 75 mags that I?m aware of.

In my experience, if in doubt, go without. But it also could just be that whoever wrote the description just did a poor job of it. YMMV.
So long story short..... I have no idea and everything I posted probably didn?t help. [emoji85][emoji86][emoji87]
    That description is just weird.

Some years ago when I was shooting a lot of IDPA, I bought some OEM mags for the CZ from CDNN.  When they arrived I saw that the package was marked as CZ original equipment, but the back of the same package card showed that the mags had been made by Pro-Mag.  They were, in every respect, identical to the CZ factory mags and gave, over a period of years, the same service.

CDNN is generally pretty reasonable about returns if the product doesn't work as indicated.  I'd risk buying a couple if I needed some mags.   (Unless, of course, I could find some Mec-Gar mags for a few dollars more.)  The problem with CDNN shipping costs is that they are high, and you need to buy several of whatever you buy to not pay too much per unit purchased.

And Mec-gar mags are available for only 3-5 dollars more. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

I've actually heard about his site from the Beretta forum, even though I never have ordered anything from there. At some point, I'll have to buy something from that site.

Probably the best prices and selection for mags out there. When looking for specific mags I always check Greg Cote first.

Same here.  Have purchased four magazines and some factory base plates from Cote recently, fast delivery and one shipping fee if I remember right.
Which reminds me, need to see about some Para P14-45 mags from Greg.
