The best groups my old Ruger Mk1 5.5" bull barrel and my Win. M52B ever shot were with Thunderbolts.
We took one of those little kids single shot bolt action rifles (chipmunk, or something like that) to the range a couple weeks back. Very hard for an adult to "get down on". Had to sort of lay my head over sideways to get my eye behind the rear sight, had a sort of "temple weld" on the stock back there. With Thunderbolts I could get two shots to tear same hole in the paper with a third anywhere from 1/2 to maybe an inch away from the other two. You know, with a single shot bolt action, you've got to break that "temple weld" after every shot, which makes it tougher to stay consistent even with a rifle that fits you.
Yes, buy/try different brands of ammo. Sometimes you find something that just works great in your gun(s).
