Thumb Rest/Gas Pedal in Steel Challenge (Ltd Div)?
« on: December 10, 2018, 10:13:19 AM »
I am hunting through rule books and forums, but can't find any info on this.  It looks like USPSA rules allow a shooter in Limited Division to add a gas pedal without bumping them to open class. Does anyone know if this is true for Steel Challenge events?

I am toying with adding one to my Tactical Sport.  If anyone has used this model, let me know!  If it going to bump me to Open, I might look at a gas pedal/optics mount combo that I can take on and off depending on the division I would shoot. Recommendations for hardware are welcome.

You'd be better off asking this over on the Steel Challenge sub forum at BEnos.

My local USPSA match director said Gas pedal was OK for limited... but that was not in speed steel, best to check. Does the normal (non-orange) TS have the frame drilled, or are you going to have that done? I went the nitrofin route - takes the place of the slide stop. Still getting used to it, but I have found if I put a lot of pressure on the pedal, the sight get pushed down and to the right. But, it seems great for light pressure and a consistent place to park your thumb.

The NITROFIN works well on the TSO (USPSA Limited) with some slight modification for fitment.
