NEW SP01 Shadowline 91168
« on: January 05, 2019, 06:40:09 PM »
Just saw Stuart post this on a Facebook group.  I had to grab one to go with my Shadowline Compact.  You don?t see these everyday and I?m wondering if these have ever been in the states.  Unique hammer on these Shadowline pistols and I must say the SA on my Shadowline Compact is phenomenal.

Nice pick up. I think one of the full sized models came in not too long after the SL release (2012/2013?) in Europe. I also seem to recall that it was CZC that offered them. Stuart would know.

I remember seeing a Shadowline full-size w/o rail on the CZC website several years back.

Yes, there was a CZ 75 Shadowline that came in sometime ago, but I believe this is the first for the SP01.

I was actually in the market for a SP01 Shadow when this hit the shelves.  Was kinda torn between this and a regular Shadow, but those are always available...

What is the difference between this variant and a vanilla SP-01? Other than the obvious like grips and sights.

Haha. Just the standard safety version of the SP-01. Not the tactical or shadow. Just plain SP-01.

I got my ShadowLine in May 2013.  I do not know how early I was in line, but they had not been in country all that long.

CZCustom brought in the 75 ShadowLine and the ShadowLine Compact.

At that time, the SP-01 ShadowLine was in Canada, but not the U.S.

What is the difference between this variant and a vanilla SP-01?

Any Shadow variant has no firing pin block and a better hammer.

ShadowLines have some common parts upgrades over a non-Shadow, like an even better hammer (still not as good as CZC hammer), low profile safeties (I replaced mine with standard), a CZ-85 trigger, and maybe a couple of other things.  My list is surely not exhaustive.

Of course, you could go look at the gun on the CZC website.  I am sure the differences are outlined.

Thanks. I will check out the website. We can't get any of the Tactical or Shadow line variants here in Commiefornia. Well, you can buy from a private party, say they moved here with one from another state l. But they come at a premium. A Shadow 2, for example, typically sells within minutes of being posted for $2000-2200. I have seen the TSO go for $2500.

This article has been posted before but worth trotting out whenever there is a question about the Shadow Lines. It is written by the author of the comprehensive book (in Czech), Legenda Jm?nem CZ. Seems that CZUB was looking to provide a bit of factory fine tuning to the standard models for the European client base.

How does this Shadowline compare to the standard Sp-01 Shadow?
