Sold off all of my CZ's except my two polymer
« on: January 10, 2019, 06:12:53 PM »
Well I'm down to only a P-07 and P-09 and the P-09 will probably go when an opportunity arises. In the process I've added a couple H&K's, a Sig and the Springfield XDe .45, love all of them and they all have a place in my carry rotation, the CZ's just didn't seem to fit anymore. If CZ had a decent sized .45 I probably would have grabbed it but I called them and asked and they said they had no plans to do so, so I grabbed an HK45c and love it, then a USP9c and just kept going.

I'm down to an ODG P07 and a P07 Urban Grey SR.  I just bought a Beretta M9A3 Type G as my 9mm suppressor host so I'll be selling my P07 UG (which is unfired).  So that just leaves me with my ODG P07 but I will never get rid of it, I just love that gun and it's my carry gun.

Well, it sounds like you've narrowed things down to some of the best.

I used to say IF I could only have one handgun that could do it all it would be a CZ P-01. I will say up front I'm biased toward hammer-fired DA/SA.

However, since getting a P-07 and comparing it to quite a few other compacts I own or have owned........Glock, SIG, Beretta, HK......the CZ P-07 has proven to be the 'Best Bang-For-the Buck' IMHO.  As reliable and durable as a Glock that eats any kind of ammo, as accurate as a SIG or HK, fits my hand better than a Beretta; and less $ than any of them. JMO

Thank goodness I can have more than one!
Current favorites for each specific task:

FNH-FNX45  Tactical 45ACP Full-size Combat Pistol
CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical  HD and Competition
SIG P229 LEGION RX Full-size Carry-Optic
CZ P-07 Compact Carry-Optic
CZ RAMI BD with RMR  Sub-Compact Carry-Optic
SIG P365  Micro-9 Pocket Carry

Guess this is a good post but my brain just can't get past the first six words on the title. It just stops and I have to re-read. Not getting any clearer, sorry. What really worries me is my wife might see the first one and start to get bad thoughts...

I agree--disturbing subject line for this thread!

Of course a P-09 was my 1st CZ and I don't think I could ever part with it--it performs outstandingly!

My collection has grown, shrunk, and grown again. Have not ventured into HK territory, but went SIG for awhile. P-07 is still one of my favorites, though it lives full-time with adult daughter and son-in-law. Stood with him as bought his first, a P-07. Current carry is P-01 Omega!! Will probably get another P-07 this year.

Funny, I'm doing the exact opposite.  After purchasing my first CZ several years ago, I've been selling my 1911s, HKs and Glocks off!   For me personally, after shooting almost every type of pistol under the sun over the past 34 years, nothing combines reliability, accuracy, safety and ergos the way my P-09 and P-07 do.  And they sure are reasonably priced too.  An unbelievable combo.  My only complaint is I'd wish CZ would make alloy framed versions of my favorites.  Used to be a die hard .45 guy too, but prefer the 9mms now.

Wish you the best of luck with your new pistols.  All excellent weapons!

Chris

I can relate.  9mm is a lot like a .22 to me.  Fun plinking or competition guns, but I'd rather throw a little more lead if in a situation.  The CZ's fit my plinker/fun gun collection well, but to carry one I am not interested at all.  Not due to reliability or accuracy, they just they don't fill a carry niche for me.   Luckily my shooting is at paper and they lend well to that.

I feel the exact same way about my P-09.  It wasn't my first but it is my favorite.  It's just not practical for me to carry concealed.

For every gun I sell I buy two more. Been building my collection since 1979 and the CZ line is my favorite....hands down.

I?m currently going the other direction, weeding out anything not CZ in my collection. Just sold an FN 5-7 this week that I?ve had since 2004 or so (for more than I originally paid for it no less). Just never shot it, neat enough gun and platform.

Now, the question becomes what do I replace it with?

The utilitarian in me wants a second P01, one in a finish I wouldn?t mind shoving in and out of a holster (not going to happen with my High Polish)
The collector in me wants to grab a P10F when my LGS get his first shipment in of them this Thursday, or to scoop up a P10c that he has on fire sale. Or both.
The purist in me wants to wait and grab a TSO in 9mm to go with my TSO in 40 (it?s that good)
The tinkerer in me wants to order a slew of parts for several of my existing CZ?s and get to work with doing some upgrades.

One thing is for sure, none of my CZ?s, and especially none of my steel framed CZ?s are, or ever will be for sale.

CZ or F it.
I’ve got a few CZ’s...

I?ve also considered grabbing one of the few remaining Phantoms that a few dealers around me show as having ?at the warehouse?, as I know once they?re gone they?re gone. Decisions, decisions  ;D
