Quasi-CZ SHOT Show update
« on: January 22, 2019, 01:36:58 PM »
So one of our guys from our shop is at SHOT right now.  I had him specifically stop by the CZ booth(s) and ask the following:

1.) What is the delivery date of the Micro Scorpion?

2.) When will we see Bren 2 carbine/rifle in either 5.56 or 7.62x51?

Their answer was no ETA on either.  He said they were actually kinda rude.  I asked if they at least had a pretty Czech girl hawking CZ wares?  Negative on that too.  :>(

Went to the NRA annual convention in 2017. They also have a manufacturers/vendors huge show at the same time at the conventions. Pretty much the same suspects as display at Shot Show. Dropped by the CZ booth and told them I owned 9 of their fine firearms and how much I enjoyed them. Got a somewhat rude and abrupt reception too. Guess they are too good to talk to us peons. Got a great reception from Tristar/Canik. Just sayin' CZ might want to work on their people skills...or actually develop some.

Very disappointing.

Update from our boy Stevie:  IWI has no projection on delivery of their Tavor 7, the 7.62x51 Bullpup which they said last year was going to be available last year.  Same with the 12 gauge Bullpup.

The SC with the F slide on the C frame?  I?ve only seen pics.  Looks interesting but personally I?m eagerly awaiting the release of the P10S.

Oooh, the SC is exactly what I want to back up my P10C. I didn't think they were going to import them. Please, please, please!

Don't really need to import them - just slap the slide on the frame at the US factory. It's not listed in the new catalog, might be a last minute addition to the line up. I'd like to see an SC the other way, full size grip with Compact slide. :) I'm kind of weird that way. Would that be called a P-10Ch, for "Chopped"?  ;D

I was at SHOT 2015 and everyone was very nice, but very busy with hundreds or people moving through every second, amd every contact was a potential write up or large sale. So I tried not to bother people much.

My understanding is all of the manufacturers have pretty much done away with the "booth babes" as such a large demographic of new gun buyers are women. Not wise to irritate that many potential customers all at once.  ;)

Putting a ?C? slide on a ?S? frame would be something I?d be interested in.  But talking with a guy who owns a ?C? and a ?S?, he tried that and while it may work you can see a portion of the recoil rod spring.

But no problem carting out buff retired, mussle bound hunks of special ops or want-to-bes in their wife beater T shirts.  No wonder men are a declining percentage of gun buyers, being offended as such! :-*

I hit the booth up for about 45 minutes today and got the same answers. They were obviously getting bombarded with those questions all day. I felt for them. Their sales reps are pretty much as in the dark as we are. My biggest takeaway of the day?  I WANT THE 75 HUSH!!!

I guess IWI also has no time table on the next generation Jericho or the striker fired Masada that were both announced in 2017?

Update from our boy Stevie:

SIG are introducing their 9mm MPX in a K-version, a compact.  Much like the Micro Scorpion we have yet to see.

Steyr are introducing an A2 version of their pistol line.  Basically they will now have a grip similar to the VP9, that is changeable back strap and side panels, flared magwell and forward slide serrations.

I looked down that link - EVERYONE is making a detachable mag shotgun this year...and half are bullpups. My son got all weak in the knees for the semi auto ones, which is funny considering he weighs abut a buck 10 soaking wet with rocks in his pockets and 12 ga recoil would probably "dismount the gun". Needs more protein. However, the KelTec single mag tube one looks nicer.
