P01 Omega....road to lighter DA pull
« on: January 23, 2019, 04:21:41 PM »
Just came into possession of a P01 Omega and although smooth..DA pull is WAY heavy !! Short of an Omega Kit from Cajun...is there a path to lighten the DA pull. I'm ok with SA weight, but a tad lighter wouldn't hurt.
New to the Omega, so any help is appreciated.

Reducing the hammer spring weight can reduce the DA pull weight significantly. Generally you can go as low as 15# without the need for other parts and maintain reliable primer ignition. Lower than 15#s may require an extended Firing Pin and reduced power FP spring. With the additional parts you can go as low as 13-11.5 lbs and still get reliable ignition in most cases. CZ Pistols can vary from one to the next so testing is required to be sure.

A reduced Power Trigger Return Spring will also lower the DA pull weight.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I agree with Tok, but will add that I put only the 14# spring in mine with good results. I intend to use mine at the range so if I have a light strike it won't be a problem. It made an appreciable difference in the double acttion trigger pull, both in weight and smoothness. If I planned to carry it though, I would include the other recommended parts.

Wolf and CZ Custom shop both offer Hammer springs listed as 10LB. I am unclear how one companys listed spring weights correlate to another.

BCC, I hope you?re enjoying the new pistol!  The CGW Ultralite Kit is a great starting point for a pretty cheap price.  Add a RP-TRS for even better results.

This is the kit that my PCR has in it when we met.

Thanks Joe...went with the Ultralite per Cajun recommendation. You're referring to trigger return spring ??
Put 100rds though it yesterday---extremely smooth & accurate shooter !!!!

Excellent!  Great to hear that!  It should be very accurate with that Cajun bushing.  Yes the RP-TRS is the Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring and will also help reduce DA stroke by a bit.

That's basically what I've done with every CZ I own, CGW springs extended firing pin etc, followed with alot of shooting, dry fire practice, every one of them has smoothed up nicely, with the DA trigger pull ending up about where I like it (about 8lbs or so) One of the nice things about CZ's is their tunabilty..
