I picked up my new P01 Omega today. I lubed it, put 100 rds. of factory ammo (FMJ) through it.
First, the decocker didn't fail. Of the 100 rds., 3/4 of them were double action, as in decocking after each round. Maybe I am unjustly paranoid about this, but it is a concern for me.
Second, I had several failures to feed, but on all but one simply bumping the rear of the slide with the heel of my hand chambered the round. I'll chalk this up to a break-in period, and see how it goes in the long run.
Upon reading the manual, it gives no instructions on reversing the mag release, beyond that it has to be done by a gun smith. I've read on here about members doing this, can anyone help me with the procedure?
The gun shot fine, accuracy wise, just maybe an inch to the right for me. I didn't have time at the range for adjustments, so that will be left for the next trip. The D/A pull is heavy, compared to the S/A, but that is how the weapon is designed, so to complain about that is a sign I bought the wrong gun. I have shot enough CZ 75 based guns, S&W third generations, Sigs, and Beretta M9's to know that is the nature of the design. Besides, I don't find it to be any hindrance to accurately shooting a handgun.
If the reliability issues straighten up, this may become a carry weapon. It feels like my 1992 Compact, which is what I expected, and the tall suppressor sights are a lot better for my aging eyes.
