CZ P01 Omega Safety/Decocker Issues
« on: January 26, 2019, 05:48:13 PM »
Have these issues been resolved? Has CZ addressed this? New to the forum and considering purchasing one. Thank you.

I haven't seen anyone complain about them in awhile now.

I have two.  An early Urban Gray model and a black one I bought last year.  No issues with either - but I run the safeties.

The issues I remember people having were with the decocking levers installed.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I have one of the " problem guns " and it's still a great gun .  Mine and ( as far as I tell ) all of the problem guns were 2017 production and it seems CZ has fixed the issue . I'll probably be buying another P01 Omega this year for my wife so I can have mine back .

My black 2018 P-01 Omega doesn't have this problem. Go for it...

I just wanted to register and chime in here, since I haven't seen anyone mention a 2018 with the issue.

I have a 2018 production P01 omega tactical (grey) (91299) and I DO have the decocker popping out during normal operation issue. https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=92667.0

I have about 400 rounds through mine and last range trip my decocker started popping out during normal operation. I can also reproduce by pushing down the ejctor with the slide ON and back.
So it seems they HAVE NOT corrected this issue in the 2018 production.

I have emailed CZ and requested a replacement for a P01 non omega, as I cant ever see myself trusting the omega system now. If they wont honor that I will dimple it and sell it and probably never purchase another CZ ever as this is a disgrace, imo.

I haven't experienced this with my 2018 Omega P-01 and I've got around 1200 rounds or so through it. I'm a little afraid if I induce this by touching the ejector, I'll break my gun lol.

This is an interesting issue. I really had never heard of it before I found this post. I just picked up a new 2019 made P01 Omega. I guess I will have to keep an eye on this. I guess it is isolated to the P01? I never hear of this issue with other Omega trigger guns like the P07 and P09.

I'm not sure anyone ever communicated the real reason for this issue.  The safeties don't do it, just the decockers do it.  Not all years of manufacture do it.

If CZ worked on it and figured it out no one every went on line and explained what they found.  Shhh.  It's a sequet?

Some people who really wanted to keep their pistols figured out a way around it and that's something to do with dimpling either the right side lever or the left side shaft, I don't remember which.  There are some posts on the forum here about it.

I run the safeties and never had the issue on either of mine (naturally).

Update on my personal experience:

Sent my P01 omega grey into CZ because my decocker was popping out. I included a note asking just for a regular p01 non omega replacement. ~1 week later i got my new p01.
Personally i'll stay away from the omegas.

It?s disappointing cause I love the new decocker design. Mine seems fine so far but I can see how you?re turned off big time. Regardless the original P-01 is still a great pistol  (I might buy one one day as a back up for my P-01 Omega  ;) )

Hmmm I sent mine in last week. Lets see if they'll be able to fix the issue. That's pretty cool that they gave you the replacement.

My decocker is fine on a 2019 model. However, I want to run safeties and they don’t work...[emoji35][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]!

What's the reason it doesn't work?

I had a P-01 Omega and installed the safety levers so I’m not familiar with the decocker issue. What did frustrate me about the safety lever was the plastic safety detent. I never fired the first round from it because I found myself so irritated with it. After initial installation the tip of the detent stripped after less than a dozen operations of the lever. That made for a very weak feel when cycling the safety lever. I contacted CZ and was sent a complete new safety assembly and the same thing immediately happened. I double checked my installation and it was good. I did a search for a replacement metal detent and found nothing so I made one from a stainless flat washer and that cured the problem. All my CZ clone guns, and I have a lot, all have metal safety detents. I feel like a few extra dollars could’ve been invested in a metal detent.
