New CZ-75 Compact Trigger Reset Issue
« on: January 27, 2019, 04:23:25 PM »
Hello y?all,

This is my first post on this forum. I recently purchased a CZ75 Compact which was built ~JAN2018, I noticed that when I push the slide slightly out of battery it causes the trigger to (un)reset? I know that when the pistol is in battery, the trigger bar lifts up into the recess in the slide and whenever the slide moves back it causes the trigger bar to move down. I also know that when in battery, the trigger bar is pushing up against the disconnector, does anyone think that maybe when the slide pushes the trigger bar down, it gets stuck in the down position against the disconnector?

This happens every single time I rack the slide on the pistol even after ~500 rounds, if I push the trigger back slightly there is an audible reset click and it doesn?t do it again unless I rack the slide again. Should this be a concern? I bought this Compact for CCW amd I want to make sure this isn?t a safety issue.

On a side note, I noticed the barrel lockup on this Compact is quite poor, the lockup is comparable to a stock Glock where the barrel hood can be pushed down a bit when in battery whether there is a round chambered/magazine in or not, is this acceptable? The CZ test fire sheet shows a 2.5? group at 25m. My other CZ75 (Full size) barrel is nearly rock solid.

Here is the video of the trigger reset issue, you may have to turn up the volume to hear it.

Thanks for any help!

Welcome aboard.
Check that you have equal upward pressure on the triggerbar springs.

cntrydawwwg, I popped the trigger bar spring out of its place and noticed one side was higher than the other, I bent both upwards equally and even added a bit more tension than what is recommended, unfortunately this did nothing to the reset issue I?m having.  :(

If you think you have an issue call CZ-USA and let them handle it.

I'm simply amazed at how gun owners find issues like this.  ??? ???

Now that you brought it up I checked.......Well let's just say alot of pistols  :-X :-X :-X and only had one that would do this, my FNX-45. It only does it when I push the slide slightly out of battery and ease it back into battery slowly. If I pull the slide all the way back and release it , this does not happen. I have about a thousand flawless rounds through my FNX-45 so I'm not going to worry about it.

Let us know how this works out for you.  ;D

First chuckle of the morning, sir.

I had to chuckle/laugh.  I've noticed the same thing.  I can't tell you how many times I've grabbed the P01, or the P07 or P09, unloaded them, field stripped them and then grabbed a flashlight/second pair of glasses to get a real detailed/close up look at some feature/action of my CZ pistols when someone on this forum or another one questions things they've noticed about their new CZ pistol

Had I not read it on the internet I'd never have looked at, or noticed, that particular feature/action.  Whether it's wear in the finish on the inside of the pistol frame/parts, a funny noise it makes, the way it feels/sounds when you field strip it, etc., etc., etc.

Just had the P01 apart a couple nights ago looking at the firing pin block after someone questioned whether or not it should be flush with the bottom of the slide or not (mine was not and neither was theirs - I assumed that is normal since my P01 works great).

Like reading posts about how unreliable a 1911 is.  I read them, I think about them, who knows, maybe, someday, one of mine will mess up and hopefully I'll remember what that other guy did to fix his, on those occasions where there really is an issue not caused by the operator.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
