P01 Omega--decocker options ??
« on: February 16, 2019, 01:54:36 PM »
New to the Omega systems so probably a dumb question. Is there any option for the decocker lever ?? Preferably like the PCR or P01 style ?? I'm just not sold on the forward action of the Omega.
Any help is greatly appreciated.....

Hita BCC and thx for the thread. I own a 2016 P-01 decocker omega and just left it from the factory for past year. Had a 2011 P-02 decocker omega, both are the subcompact, the latter I invested in several projects. The work that Stu at czc did with a short reset, polishing, lightening the DA/SA,adding comp hammer really improved the trigger,i.e. pre travel and mushy trigger reverted to a nice reset. So depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend I guess. I never looked into if using the manual safety included with the guns could be tossed into the mix of looking for short reset, crisp break trigger. I preferred the decocker for its EDC,HD use. Do drop a call to Dave or Stu if ya need someone who's worked the platform many times over. Be well.

Thanks Adrian...I've already dealt  with the DA/SA issue. My concern is the position of the Omega decocker which is quite different from the P01 or PCR

BCC, I have both a PCR and a P01 Omega. Keep in mind the direction of decocker travel is opposite on these 2 guns. PCR travels clockwise from 3 o?clock to about 4-5 o?clock. On the omega it travels counter clockwise from 9 o?clock to about 7 oclock

Gien that, not sure you have many options to convert to something similar to the PCR or standard P01. Am also unaware of any aftermarket safety/ decocker paddles for the omegas.

Hope this helps

Thanks---was hoping for a response that there was a way to change decocker !! Got used to the one on the PCR, and not really loving the backwards action on the Omega.

Yeah, the forward swept decocker is the only option for the omegas whilst the rear swept ones are for the traditional 75 design. I actually prefer the Omega style since I ride my thumb over it like the safety models but to each his own!

I prefer the standard decocker lever. This was the deciding factor as to why I did not get the omega model.

The P01 and P01 omega are both very nice and it comes down to personal preference.

Keep us posted on how it goes for you.

Hey  BCC..  I just picked up the P-01 Standard.. as I have a SP-01 Tactical.. and that factored into my decision.. wanted the decocker to function just like my SP-01.. that I'm used to.

I basically have the full size.. and the "mini-me" version of the SP-01 < LOL >

Hope you can adjust to the different decocker.. as they are great little guns!
