SAR K2 45 new grips
« on: February 25, 2019, 08:16:14 AM »
Have been poking around online looking for new grips for my stainless K2 45. Not much out there I liked but found David Tillander on Ebay (Tillander637) and at Tillandergungrips.com. Reached out to see if he could make me some in Red and Black(Go Dawgs!) and 2 days later he had cast them for me, mailed them, and I had them on the pistol! Fantastic service!! They feel better in the hand both in texture and grip ergos. He makes OEM style ones too but the checked pattern on these feels much better than the OEMs. Very pleased w his service and the end results.

Lucked into it. read a post on this forum https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=96802.msg745510#msg745510 from Unionman(many thanks!!) and jumped on it. I screwed up the first pic but it DOES show how nicely finished the stainless models are.

Bought one of the first K2's into the country and had Dave do some red white and blue grips.  Didn't like the feel so I sanded and polished them smooth. Awesome fit and look.

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

larryflew that's a great look! Good idea too! I might order another pair and sand them down too for some "slim fit grips". Have you done any mechanical tweaks to your K2? Always looking for suggestions.

All I did with mine was stick an Uncle Mikes Grip Sleeve on it for some extra traction.

I don't shoot enough 45 to want to do anything to it.

I did pretty much the same except I used a Hogue grip.  8)

Yeah, I tried the Hogue Handall first, but it made the already large K2-45 Grip, too large for me.
The Uncle Mikes Grip was a slimmer option.
Another option could be a Pachmayr Grip Sleeve, if you can find one that will fit.

You're welcome!  The Stainless is a beauty.  I need to get some Tillander Grips!  That looks nice.
