AT 84 - AT 2000 Prices
« on: February 25, 2019, 12:25:30 PM »
I've seen various AT (ITM) guns going for huge price tags - some North of $2K.  I am a real aficionado of the CZ design and appreciate Swiss stuff, but this seems ludicrous.  2 Shadow 2s or Kriss Sphinxs for an AT-84?  Really?

It does seem ridiculous!  :D

Hopefully, Market gravity will take hold and bring those prices back down.  I certainly would not be a buyer at that level.

Personally, I don't see prices dropping on these rare pieces never to be made again...
However, I would highly recommend the Sphinx SDP Compact Duty pistol if you want something very close.
No they're NOT a AT2000S but they are a lot cheaper and the workmanship, fit and finish are just absolutely remarkable,

I'm not SUPER impressed with the Sphinx.  I've handled some and think the triggers were mediocre.  But, they're triggers would likely become excellent if smoothed out.  But:

- don't know how easy they are to detail strip.
- How are parts?
- sights options are there but not much
- you are STUCK with rubber grips which are slick as all getout when wet.

But, if I got a great deal on one, I might bite.

The AT-2000s and AT 84s are not worth more than a superb PreB in my opinion.  Just don't see the need/value.

How can post pictures directly from your computer on here?

First, you have to have a pic host, such as imgur, which I use.  Upload your pic to your host site and the host will give you a link to post.
Copy ( Ctrl+c ) your link to your PC clipboard memory and paste ( Ctrl+v ) into your post.

I haven't been overly impressed by the Sphinx SDP either. Nice gun no doubt, but not enough for me to take out my wallet. Regarding ease of disassembly, CGW stopped working on them for a reason.
I wonder how many neophytes read about the AT-2000 end up over paying for an AT-84 thinking they have a special find.

I did not like the Alpha Sphinx (with plastic frame) but however I did like the all metal framed DUTY with full sized grip. Very accurate and the build quality is very high, in my opinion.
No... it is no AT2000S, I agree.
But they are almost impossible to find at this point.

I'd like to handle one of the metal framed guns. They do look nice.
