hate CZ . . .
« on: March 11, 2019, 05:31:36 PM »
for building such great guns.  Bought my first CZ last January and my second one last May.  Time for a third one, so I am looking for some opinion as to what one to buy.  P10 or SP O1 Compact?  Pros/cons of each.  Thanks, great site.

I want to put eyes on this topic.  I have the CZ 75 Compact and CZ 83 just acquired.  I am thinking a 75 B next but am trying to figure out which particular flavor.  Thinking 75B Omega...

Lol, yeah same here. Just got a new version rev mag release p10c in black, now I got a hankering for the FDE!  Found the new version of that one for a smoking price,  and it?s in the cart.

I can only speak to the P-10c.  I have one and love it.  I feel it's the best of the striker fired pistols on the market.  Pros are that it's ergonomic and has a short, crisp trigger pull.  Cons are that it is a striker fired pistol with a short trigger pull.  I love it at the range but I prefer the inherent safety of the longer first trigger pull of a DA/SA pistol for self defense.  You can be more aggressive on the trigger than on a striker fired pistol as your first trigger pull is a lot longer.

This is one reason I love my CZ 100?s, an 8# DAO pull, albeit with a bit of overtravel. I know everyone hates them, but mine shoots fine and is still my favorite CZ and #1 EDC, ahead of my (DAO) P-07, P-09 MHS, and yes, P-10C.

There?s a huge difference between the SP-01 and P10 series guns!

I have/had both as well as a P-09. I?d call the P-07 sort of the ?combination? of the two you mentioned. It?s polymer and compact like the P10c but hammer fired with a decockee like a SP-01. Ymmv. Good luck. I don?t think you can go wrong with any CZ!

My wife hates CZ too... I finally found something I like to spend money on as much as she likes to spend money on shoes. Good luck with the decision a P07 is my next one it's already been picked out.

I must hate them also. In the last five weeks I have bought FOUR new P-10 pistols. It's a CZickness!

I really like CZ as a brand so far, but I need to stop trying to cheap my way to get what I want. EVERY SINGLE TIME I do it I end up paying near double and getting what I wanted in the first place or more.

Bought a P10C because a SP-01 Tac was too expensive, the factory P-07/09 trigger wasnt good and I didnt want to pay for a Shadow.

Bought the HBI trigger kit, CGW Guide rod, springs, 4 mags and a holster to try USPSA.

Been shooting it since January and I cannot stand the beaver tail digging into my thumb knuckle any more. Any of the hammer fired models would not have had this issue and I could have always upgraded the P-07/09 or SP-01's hammer & springs. Im stuck with the frame issue on the P10C.

Im now ordering a CGW Shadow 2 so I have nowhere else realistic to go and I wont end up chasing the Shadow after buying any other CZ Hammer gun. Not 100% sure yet, but Ill probably end up selling my P10C or trading it for a P07 or an SP-01.

Here's a pretty funny "I hate CZ" story from the other day:

A buddy I shoot with pretty frequently, and who is a good shooter, brought his Sig P226 Legion SAO to the range. I brought my slightly modified CZ SP-01 Tac.

He asked if he could try my CZ. He shot a few rounds with it, and I could hear him muttering. He put a fresh target up with two 10" circles right next to each other. He shot 10 rounds into one of the circles with his Sig and then 10 rounds into the other circle with the CZ. The difference in groups was noticeable, even from where I was standing. "Holy ****," I heard him say.

"Ok, I need to do this again, so I know it's not a fluke." He set up the same situation again with fresh targets. If anything, the CZ group on his 2nd round was even tighter. And keep in mind this was a gun he had never shot before, versus his Sig that he's been shooting regularly for months. "bleep it, I'm shooting better with a gun that cost half as much."

On the drive home he had already decided he's trading in his Sig and he's in the market for a CZ Shadow II now...:D

I hate em too ALOT. so does my wallet. Every one of my hammer fired cz's have excellent triggers. Cajun gun works has everything you need to make them run like a swiss watch. I have two plastic fantastics (p09 and p10f) and i'm trying to like them but to me the triggers just feel clunky and plasticy?? in comparison. I realize the P10 may have "one of the best polymer framed triggers out of th box" but for my money, give me a metal, hammer fired gun any day of the week. Also, the frame to slide fit is way better on all of my metal framed cz's compared to the plastic guns. I dont believe this effects the accuracy any but both the p09 and p10f have some slop between the frame/slide. My vote would be the P01 but a little extra weight has never bothered me. I may be a little biased but thats my $.02
