CZ finally caved and is selling although they'd rather you go through a retailer so they can keep them supplied.

I've read it's estimated over 3 million magazines have shipped into this state in less than a week.
Cool. At least that exceeds the rate of illegals pouring in now.

Ha!

Bet they are bringing their own guns too.

If anyone wants standard MAGAzines you better buy NOW.  As of 5pm Friday (tomorrow) they will be illegal to buy again!

And as of 5Pm California today the order is stayed, though the same judge wrote the stay in such a way that everyone who not only possesses these mags are covered, but who BOUGHT them and may not have even received them yet. This will be very interesting!

Hiya and thx for the thread. Who wants to be that guy who puts the brakes on a few hundred million dollars of economic stimulus. They might get called up to the tower and get their pink slip. Be well.

One estimate says possible two million new magazines of various flavors, plus every single one in the state is basically grandfathered now. This is the "common use" thing the judge wanted for the ruling when it goes to the 9th and SCOTUS.

No surprise here. Only surprised it took a Lib Judge that long to get the stay.

You guys didn't read it - it was the same judge who wrote the stay as who overturned it to begin with. He did this deliberately to coincide with his 86 page original decision, which addresses common use as well as a number of other things. He wrote it to make sure everyone who bought mags, not even received yet but purchased during the window, was covered, which means ALL standard cap mags in Cali brought in up to that date are legal. He also wrote it to give people another day and a half, and two MILLION magazines purchase in a 5 day period PROVES the common use thing beyond a shadow of a doubt. He knew the 9th would stay it if he didn't and their would be brutal, so he took it away from them, neatly clipping Nuisance's wings. Brilliant and next stage for the battle in the 9th coming up.

Yes, I saw that and some other quite awesome graphics/memes at arfdotcom.  8)
Now there are some estimates that perhaps up to 5 million mags were purchased, with a potential of approximately $100,000,000 injected into the national economy OUTSIDE of California. And it was also brought up that the only reason this happened is law abiding gun owners are exactly that - law abiding, that they waited until it was LEGAL to buy them and bought like there was no tomorrow. This is not only proof about common use, but about the law abiding tendencies of the average firearms owners.

Love the pic. I'm so glad these people were able to buy mags like the most of us. Is it also against the law to send mags to say maybe a relative or friend in Cal. They wouldn't be able to prove when the mags were purchased, so they say they bought them when it was legal and lost the receipt.

It was a brief, but happy time where I felt like a normal gun owner.

Except that the standard mags can't go into pistol gripped ARs unless they're registered as assault weapons, and half of the pistols out there are still illegal to buy new.

But at least my CZs are happy and fat with the correct number of bullets.
