Suppressor host...... so many choices....
« on: April 02, 2019, 01:30:13 PM »
I tend to be trigger meticulous... and I feel this may steer my decision a bit.

several things taken into account:
Cost
Weight
Trigger

P10c Suppressor ready--suppressor night sights, threaded barrel, and from what reviews say, an amazing striker trigger ($400ish from what ive found)
P-09 Suppressor ready--suppressor night sights, threaded barrel, and some cajun spice to make everything nice ($915 Cajun)
SP-01 Tactical (Black)-- I just can't do that urban gray model that comes with the barrel and night sights... so Id probably get a black one and add the barrel and sights, albeit costly.... ($1038 ++++)

Granted, the most cost efficient route is in that precise order, but having mentioned trigger, they'd be in reverse order.... this is really a rock and a hard place...

I have a p10c as a suppressor host. It very much prefers heavier loads. Not an issue as I handload. Other than that it has been an excellent firearm with 0 issues after figuring out that I needed to load just a little hotter.

There is a distributor exclusive OD Green version of the SR SP-01 Tactical if you don't like UG.

Following this as I?m kinda in the same boat. Although, I already own those same three guns, just not suppressor ready.

Leaning toward a barrel and sights for the Tactical.

You can always go SP-01 Tactical Urban Gray and cerakote it. That?s what I did. I picked up a used one to keep my costs down and absolutely love it. It?s an excellent supressor host. The weight really balances out the can and I installed the Cajun Pro package to finish it off. Couldn?t be happier.

Whats the durability of the cerakote?

It holds up well. Holster wear is the biggest enemy of cerakote but it stands up to normal wear and tear.  I have a few other cerakoted guns that still look good and I don?t exactly treat them with kids gloves or anything. Like anything else it will break down over time with enough abuse.

Was that done over the polycoat or was it stripped completely down to bare metal?

He blasted it down to metal first.
