How many own SP-01 Tacticals?
« on: April 16, 2019, 10:23:16 AM »
And an even more important question, why aren't any of you selling them  O0?  I've kind of been on the lookout for one as a replacement for my PCR.  The PCR has been pushed aside as a carry piece by my recently acquired Sig P220, and if my lone remaining 9 mm is going to be relegated to range toy status, I want something bigger that feels more like my 97 BD.  It's worth noting that in several weeks of looking across at least 3 forums, there have been NO Tacticals offered for sale or trade.  Another interesting thing of note, of the CZ's that are showing up for sale, the majority of those are polymer framed guns.  So come on, guys, there must be at least a couple of these gathering dust in a safe, move'em on down the road, Daddy needs a new toy  ;D.  Later.

iAmmo has some great prices on the SP 01s right now, with the safety version being less expensive.

Any reason choosing the tactical over the safety version?

I've standardized on DA/SA with decocker, prefer guns without safeties and don't like strikers.  Yeah, I can find them new, but only online, nothing local, but what I'd really like to do is swap my PCR for one.  I've bought very few new guns over the years, and most of those I lost money on when I sold/traded them.  Used, I seem to do better, and better yet trading.

BTW, guys, this post was at least somewhat tongue in cheek, and probably a little premature as well.  Although I've been shooting and carrying the SIG a lot more lately, I need to take both to the range and do some serious side by side comparison shooting.  Whichever one I shoot best is the one I'll carry, if it's the SIG, the PCR will get traded/sold toward a Tactical.  If the PCR wins, not sure what I'll do with the SIG.  I don't need 2 range toy .45's, and the 97 BD fills that role quite nicely.  But the SIG does make a good night table gun, and is the only pistol I own right now with a rail.  And yes, I do have a light on it just for that purpose, but I don't carry it with the light mounted.  Most of the reason behind the post was curiosity about the lack of Tacticals on the used market, seems like it's mostly plastic or higher end CZ's showing up.  Later.

SP-01's and particularly Tacticals are normally keepers not traders or get rid of ?.ers?

That's why they aren't on the used market. If you find anyone who will trade you a PCR for a SP-01 you found someone who really wants a used PCR.

good luck - you seem to know what you want and have the patience to wait for it to happen. What Sig do you have? Probably a better chance to get a trade done with the right Sig IMHO then a PCR.

Hiya and thanks for the thread Dave. I'd venture to guess that you don't see as many because they prolly were produced and imported in smaller numbers than its closest cousin the sp-01. And since new they would cost more buyers didn't want to spend the extra cash on them, that sort of demand could leave a smaller niche for sales. With so many operators wanting to upgrade to night sights,a model that has them standard, takes a project away from the owner and bite out of the billion dollar aftermarket business, kinda a double whammy. I believe the guns were sprung to handle plus p ammo, that could be a disadvantage to some. And I don't see a world of difference in usability of the decocker at bedside hammer down or half cock verses a manual safety off or half cocked. Altho prefer a 12ga as a bedside.
As far as your side by side range comparison,I vote for a weighted average of the best of 5 range days in choosing your EDC. Just to be fair to the platforms. I shoot as many rounds lefty as righty per session and on any given day prone to outshoot one over the other and its a flip which its gonna be. So use a small law of avg sample for that important call, and consider using your preferred HD/EDC ammo for the experiment.
There certainly may be a member with a safe queen you'd like, but as ya know parting with a gun is mostly a matter of how much of a loss do I want to bear,so consider posting WTB/WTT and let your offer reflect your desire to own a hard to find cz.Be well.

I have good news and bad news for you. The good news; they are out there. I just saw a used one manufactured in 2018 at a LGS here in northwest Ohio that a gentleman traded in on a high-end 1911. The bad news; I literally just bought it an hour ago for a very fair price. Same LGS also has a 75BD (I believe it was either a 2016 or 2017 build and in very good condition) for a very good price that would be a nice match for your PCR. There are pictures on the LGS web site at Jaquas.com.

Keep an eye on GunBroker. I picked up a used one last year in FDE for well under MSRP (even before the fde markup).

I just bought mine a couple months ago, and I wouldn?t dream of selling mine. When you get yours you?ll know why everyone holds onto them.  Good luck on your quest!

I keep thinking about selling mine to fund a sp01 phantom but I'd probably just end up buying another in the future. It's just too good to let go of.

I guess I would sell mine if the price were right. Bidding starts at $1500!
