D?Technik VZ58 accessorized
« on: April 18, 2019, 09:03:58 PM »
I?ve been wanting a VZ58 for a long time. I was finally lucky enough to track one down this fall. After shooting it in its original configuration I decided to make some changes.

Thought I would share. I started with the trigger, fitting the CNC Warrior steel trigger, sear, and disconnector. Being a D?Technik I removed the muzzle extension and replaced it with a 2 piece special forces muzzle brake I got from RSR. I pinned and welded the inner brake, leaving the outer brake removable. I also replace the handguards with a NEA upper(also from RSR thank you), and a modified Bone Steel lower. The Bone Steel lower seemed too boxy so I rounded the the rear corners matching the contours where it meets the receiver. Next I replaced the stock using the Czechpoint M4 adapter with picatinny rail. This eliminated the original rear sight, now utilizing a rear flip sight. I connected a Daniel defense stock with Strike industries buffer tube. Also painted the front sight post gold for added visibility. Being in California I had to add a kydex wrap and need to pin the stock. I moved the wrap  and added the stock for these photos only till I get to that.

Hiya Santo and thx for your thread. It was nice to see you take us thru the projects. Does the rear sight need to be flipped up just once and it stays up? Hope to see ya at the day at the range for a update. Be well.

Here is a picture of the two piece muzzle  brake in action. It did a great job of managing the recoil.

Very nice throughout.  What did you do to coat the front sight?

The rear sight is just a UTG buis. I went cheap to see if I liked it. It was a lot better than the stock notch sight. And it really worked well with the red dot, as well as with without. I?m going to upgrade to a Troy rear sight now that I plan on keeping this setup. I also like how the stock adapter was accompanied with the blank plate for the original rear sight.

The front sight post was just painted with some gold one shot. But both the brake and the front sight post are headed to go get PVD coating soon. Only the sight post will be Tin coated. I?ll go with a black coating for everything else I send.

Did you modify your front sight post (it looks thinner)? Also, what company are you gonna use to coat the front sight post? I would like to coat my front sight post as well to help it stand out.

New production gun.  Looks like CSA might be making flat front sight posts on 2 sides like AKs vs round OE post.  Can't exactly tell from pics.

ForcedMarch (in stickies) offers a reduced diameter brass rod front sight post that's worth looking into for visibility and precision reasons.  Only grip is that brass does tarnish but vinegar will remove.
