I'm not much of a USPSA guy these days, more of a 3 gunner.  Personally, I'm using a DSG competition belt coupled with a Safariland ALS or GLS holster (depends on the gun I'm using at the time) and Blade-Tech mini-TMMS equipped tek-loks and mag pouches.  For a 3 gun rig, where I've got a pistol, pistol mags, shot shells, and rifle mags, I like the added safety factor of a true buckle.  The DSG belt is one of the few out there with a real buckle.

For USPSA, I'm using a Safariland ELS belt system.  The holster varies depending on the gun that I'm shooting.

Ghost has been in the business for a while, and last I heard, was still well thought of.  That setup should work just fine, if you like it.  I would recommend going to a local club match and talking to the folks that are there shooting.  You might even get a chance to try something there before you drop cash on it.

Ask around at a match and see what people are using and why.  Most of the guys I shoot with aren't fans of the Ghost pouches because of the mount.  It's wide and covers a lot of the velcro, so the outer belt doesn't make great contact with the inner.  I mostly see CR Speed or DAA Racer pouches at matches, my preference being the Racers since I like my bullets facing out.

Here's what the mounts look like.

Agree with the above:  ask what other people are using at your local matches to get a better feel for what?s out there and why people are using certain brands.

Over the years I?ve used DAA, CR Speed, Ghost, Comp-Tac, Safariland, and Blade-tech.  There?s definite differences between the brands and some are better at certain things than others.  One thing I found works better for me with mag pouches is having the tensioner at the rear of the mag rather than the side.  Mags pull out cleaner with less binding that way.  DAA and Ghost use a torsion spring at the back of the mag pouch, and as a result I prefer those two over the others which mainly use side-by-side tension to retain the mag.

I also have come to prefer bullets-out rather than more conventional bullets-forward.  So I look for mag pouches that I can rotate the pouch, such as DAA and Ghost.

For holsters, there?s a lot of choices out there but I?ve gravitated towards some sort of kydex holster mounted to a BOSS hanger.

Checkout Ben Stoeger?s Pro Shop for a one-stop-shop of belt/holster/mag pouches.

Good luck on your quest.

Can always add sticky velcro to the backs of the mag pouch holders to grab the inner belt.
