New to me CZ 2075 RAMI P 40S&W
« on: May 18, 2019, 08:50:57 PM »
Stopped by a gun store I visit about once every six months or so looking for good consignments (store is mostly consignment), and this little guy followed me home.

I never thought I would be a RAMI owner - but I thought the price was too good to pass up.

It has a 07 date.

I've never really researched anything RAMI.....anything I should know, be on the look out for.  Gonna clean it up and take it to the range.

Thanks!

Quick Draw,

You scored a RAMI P!  Normally RAMI's have an alloy frame not a polymer frame.  Look back into the archives and do a little poking around about the history of the RAMI P and the cautions about it.

I'm jealous of your little score!

Good luck with the RAMI P!

Congratulations on getting a RAMI P!  I've been considering getting one but keep hearing and reading about issues which led to it being discontinued. Please update this thread with your experiences using it as others myself included probably have not seen or handled one. Thanks!
WTB PM if you got any for sale:
CZ 75 SHORT RAIL (factory blued)
CZ 75 PRE-B (factory blued).

So since picking up my first CZ last year (CZ P10C) and seeing my buddies 1990 CZ 75 preB no import markings, I have sorta of wanted more and more of them  (I now have 10) :P  So when I see what I think is a good deal on one I pick it up, especially if I think it is 'rare/quirky/discontinued' - like a polymer RAMI in 40.  I didn't pick this up for a carry gun - this guy will be a range toy every once in awhile.

I cleaned it up and took it to the range - I shot 100rds of 165gr Federal Syntech trouble free.  I didn't try any self defense ammo on it.  It actually shot pretty nice for a subcompact 40S&W, the magazine extension helps this a lot because I can get my full hand around it.  The owner before me must of shot it a lot, because it has a really trigger in both DA and SA - I'm know trigger expert but it feels good. (even by buddy who shot it thought it had a nice trigger)

I do see the slightest 'bulge' on the right side of frame I am guessing from the Slide Stop Spring (#3 on RAMI diagram https://shop.cz-usa.com/czpartslists/czrami.pdf) - Mine is very minor but once you know to look for it you can see it is slightly bulged compared to the opposite side of the frame.

Ya I didn't know about the possible bulge on RAMI P until after picking it up.  If I would of read that before seeing it I probably would of skipped buying it, but I am glad I picked it up.  I only paid $325.00 for it - original Blue CZ box, test target, Certificate of guarantee :P, 2 mags, manual, cleaning rods.  I did register it on the CZ website :P  IF I ever have any problems with it, I will see if they will help me out - I understand it is out of warranty and I bought it used.  I'm willing to pay for an alloy frame if it ever gets to that point.  But honestly I think this RAMI will be a keeper like it is.

I will probably only put 500-1000 rds of ammo through this guy a year (may sound like a lot but I shoot every weekend and some Thursdays for league stuff - usually 500rds each time depending on what or how many I bring) - I don't shoot a lot of 40 S&W - even though this is my 2nd CZ in 40 (P-09 but I put a KADET on it, and most of time it will be wearing that).  I plan to start reloading this winter so maybe that will change.
