Am I the only person who prefers a 2075 Rami B?
« on: May 25, 2019, 11:46:18 PM »
Don't get me wrong,  I love my P01 with its decocker but im crazy about my 2075 Rami  B. For one, it was easier to nab,  but I don't mind manually decocking at all.  My technique is to stick a finger between the hammer and the firing pin while briefly pulling the trigger.  Easy peasy.

I don't think I'd ever carry cocked and locked but I like having that option.

I'd love to do the CGW treatment but CZC is right down the street and their work is legendary.

I might eventually copy Vinny's RMR setup, that looks sweet.

Anyhow, just stopping by to say hello to my fellow Rami enthusiasts!

When I bought my new Rami a few months ago I got the BD version.  It did take me several months of looking before I found a good deal on one.  They're not easy to find.  I've owned and shoot 1911's for over 50 years and I've manually decocked thousands of time without a problem, but I don't like doing it.  I do it just like you do, but it's still an accident waiting to happen, which is why when I had a choose I went with the decocker.

I prefer the RAMI B because I do carry cocked and locked.

I'm a RAMI B guy too.  It's a great pistol.  I have the CGW Pro kit installed.  Love it.

RAMI B is awesome!  Manually decocking is easy.  Tritium sights will wear out before you know it.  2 finger grip with 10 round magazine is just great for SD.  I like that mine impacts to POA @ 10-12 yrds with 147gr HST.  I've not found the need to "tune it up" any more than the fine folks at CZ did under warranty when I reported hiccups with 147gr ammo when new.

Hiya and thanks for the thread, and I preferred the B to the D as well, even tho it wasn't a poll. Its a nice gun to round out any cz collection. Be well.

I also prefer the B.  Purchased mine from Cajun Gun Works and they did all their magic on it before shipping it to me.  Gets carried a LOT.

My RAMI is the B. I own handguns (some CZs) with a decocker and though I use them when the firearm has it, I surely would not pay a premium price of a D over a B. I have never even come close to accidentally firing any handgun while lowering the hammer. I do not carry any handgun "cocked and locked". I know it can be done safely but I just don't like the idea for myself. The double action trigger pull of any DA/SA handgun that I own is enough of a safety factor for me.

I carry my RAMI B C&L with 100% confidence.  I did have to install a 75b safety to accommodate my stubby thumb.

Was there much fitting or was it drop in?

The 75b safety was just shy of a drop-in fit for me. The notch in the shaft of the safety, in which one leg of the sear spring rests in order to keep the safety from walking out of the frame, didn't clear the sear cage.  I enlarged the  notch ever so slightly with a needle file, and that gave it enough width to clear the sear cage and allow the leg of the sear spring to drop into place.

I also used the safety lever from a 75B in my RAMI.  I found the RAMI safety too shallow for my taste.
The 75B has a bit more profile to it, it sticks out a bit more.  I did have to file the bottom edge to get it
to clear the rubber grip panels.  Other than that it worked fine.

Awesome info. I've fitted 1911 safety's before so this should be easy.
