457 MTR on the site of the original S&B factory
« on: May 31, 2019, 03:32:37 AM »
Had a chance to check out the trigger and bolt throw on the 457 MTR (with 16 inch barrel not currently available in the US, I believe). In summary....this rifle has an extremely sweet trigger! Was not able to try out for accuracy as I only shot it from the standing position and I just couldn?t get the scope to work properly for me. The owner of the rifle experimented with .22 Short and they seemed to do well under the conditions.

The old range is on the former vineyard estate where Sellier & Bellot established their first percussion manufacturing plant in 1825. Back then, this was outside of the city limits. It is now a public park with a small hill. There are tunnels and bunkers around built in the 1950s as part of the civil defense of the time. The small range is in the basement of a plain looking building that is owned by the Czech Biathlon union. It is used for training and club activities as well as open for public use. There is one tunnel that extends past the 50 m limit of the other positions to about 100 m. An out door range is for air rifle training.

Pretty sure they're available in the states. I bought one this morning in Plano. [emoji16]

Congrats! Did you get the 16 inch barrel? I?ve only seen the 20 inch barrel listed on the CZ-USA website but that?s never to be taken 100% [emoji3]. Looking forward to photos and a range review.

It's the 20.5" barrel. Jealous of your range trip!

Thanks for your post . That range sounds excellent . I just love the idea of the conversion of those Civil-Defence bunkers, what a great site for an urban range !
