TRUGLO TFX sights for PCR?
« on: June 16, 2019, 10:37:20 AM »
Anyone put CZC?s TRUGLO TFX FRONT SIGHT and their CZ 75 Tactical Rear Sight with .140 wide U- Notch on their PCR?

https://czcustom.com/czc-truglo-tfx-front-sight.html
https://czcustom.com/cz75-tactical-u-notch-140.html

Looking for some bolder sights for my aging eyes and think these may work, however, am concerned about the rear sight mating well with the unique PCR rear sight cuts. My preference is for a simple black rear.

If anyone does have them installed on their PCR, can you post a picture?

If the rear doesn?t work, any recommendations from the team here?

Thanks in advance

I know that this subject is completely up to personal preference.
I found the tfx pro front post to be just okay.  It didnt show up all that great indoor but outdoors and night time they were pretty good.  The front post was too wide for the rear notch which i believe is even wider then the .140 that you're considering(check on that though).
Im extremely happy  with what im running at the moment which is a mepro front post and a cz custom rear.

I actually got the front sight for the SP01 which has a slightly larger dot then the P01

I put the TFX Pros on my P01, actually CGW did.  A little bulky but I like them fine.  Would rather have a black rear but just went ahead and installed the set.

Put these on mine and have been very happy.
I have aging eyes too. I don?t have a problem picking up the front sight and the rear may as well be blacked out because in daylight the rear tritium isn?t noticeable.

I almost went with FO. For a carry gun, I?m glad I didn?t.

I see that they are made for the PCR only.  Did you install them?  If you did was it fairly easy?  I am in a sight "dilemma" but your choose was at the top of my list!

I have the Truglo TFX Pros on a couple of my pistols including my CZ PCR. The install was pretty straight forward. I use a wheeler sight pusher.TRUGLO TFX Pro CZ 75 Set Tritium/Fiber-Optic Day/Night Sights (Orange) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018IP4GVM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IifcDb86CT1FH

You may want to look at the Dawson Precision set offered through CGW? I'm liking the looks of it...

I'm having the same dilemma - trying to decide which sights to install on my PCR.  It'll be used as an occasional carry gun so I'd like night sights but the choices are somewhat limited, as you've discovered.  And for me too, it's come down to the GCW Dawson night sights or the TFX pros.  I'm not enamored with the 3 white dots configuration of the Dawsons TBH and I'm leaning towards the TFX Pros.  Also, having just last night installed Dawson FO sights on my P01 (range and local comp gun) and having to "fit" both sights by sanding them I'm worried that if I try to install a tritrium vialed front sight in the PCR, if it's anything like my P01 front sight install, the "persuasion" necessary may break the vial so if I went that route I'd likely have CGW install them when I send it in for a defensive carry package later this year.  I know every gun is different so who knows, maybe the Dawson front sight would install no problem in my PCR but they might not.  TFX Pros seem easier for a non gunsmith like me to install without issues.

Decisions, decisions...  Good luck!

PS: I do like the Dawson FO sights I installed and do have a set of blacked out rears and an FO front sight for my SP01 (another range and local comp gun) but after last night's struggle with the P01 front sight I'm definitely having CGW install them (currently on their waiting list for a pro package install).

I did not install them myself. I had an 85 combat trigger that needed to be installed too so I took it to a smith to install both.

I don?t really like three dot sights either. The rear dots are so small on these sights compared to the front sight that your eyes don?t really pick them up. It?s very close to a blacked out rear setup. The dot in the front is very big (relatively) and bright in daylight.

That?s what I put on mine. Not pretty from the side but sight picture is so much better, day or night.

Do not have the truglo's on my PCR, but do have them on my P-01 and I really like them,, day or night.  My PCR has a black rear and FO front.
