Serial number database?

Brand new CZ 82 owner question:  I picked up a 1988 model today.  It has the crossed swords military acceptance marks, so I know that much about its history.  I'd like to know more.  Is there a database with serial numbers that could offer additional information, like what branch it was issued to? 

Also, would a police issue have the crossed swords marks or did police have their own acceptance marks?

There are books that list serial numbers against the year they were made, or in a few cases if they were a lot sold to a specific branch, but I've never seen them list which serial numbers went to which units.

On a longshot you might try searching databases in the Czech Republic, but you'll have to do a lot of Google Translate to make headway or engage someone from there to help you.
