P-10S Optics Ready

Just picked up today. Amazing trigger.  I love how it fits the hand and how one can get all fingers on the grip.

The only negative I can say is the finish is not nearly as good as my P-10C made in the Czech Republic.  I’ve fired several hundred rounds and one can’t even tell; however, on this new example—which I haven’t even fired—the barrel hood already has wear along the edges.  Really surprised about that.

Having said that, I think this is the perfect concealed carry firearm out there.  Didn’t mean to sound negative.  It’s FANTASTIC.

I picked up a P10S/OR on Saturday and had a chance to put 50 rounds through it last night.  I’m really happy with it so far.  Just like Photog says (as have others before) it’s a really good size and very well balanced.  I found an RMR RM07 for $419 and also have an CZC adapter plate inbound.  I can’t wait to try that combo out on it.

Today was the first day that I got to shoot the P10S with the RMR attached.  I am in love with this combo.  I was running both 12 round and 12+2 round mags.  Both performed well with the exception of 4 slide lock backs with rounds still in the mag.  Both mags did it and by the time I was done, the issue seemed to have passed.  But, it will take another couple of hundred rounds before I’m comfortable enough with carry so I’ll know for sure if the issue was just a break in issue or if it’s going to be an ongoing thing.

At 56 years of age, I have some eye issues that cost me partial vision in my dominant eye.  I’ve struggled with irons from this but today it felt like I was shooting in the old days back before the eye trouble started.  At 7 yards, I was able to do rapid fire into an 8” target and still hold a tight group.  If I take my time, I can carve out the center of a target with ease.

Who knew that these things would be so much fun?

Tim, thanks for sharing.  I’m 55, so I might have to strap on a RMR and see what it’s like to be able to see sights again!

Anyone have suggestions on dot size for an RMR on this?  I’m thinking 6.5 but have no real experience with pistol mounted optics.

I went with the 6.5, which is the RM07 model RMR.  After getting it, I cannot imagine needing a smaller dot size.  Maybe it’s my aging eyes but the 6.5 seems perfect to me.  Easy to acquire and yet still lets me carve the dot out of a target with relative ease.

BTW, I picked my RMR up off of Primary Arms which had them for $419.  From what I can see, that’s a decent price for these.

My aging eyes will be '70' in a couple of months; so I've gone all-in on red-dots for SD and competition. They've really kept me in the game. Because I have minor astigmatism, with a small dot like 2-3moa I see a group of small dots which can be confusing, but with a larger dot like 6moa, they blend together into one 'blob' so it's easier to place on target quickly. YMMV

Good that CZ is finally offering 'optic-ready' but I have to ask if the factory irons will lower 1/3 co-witness correctly with the RMR; or do they leave that for you to work out the correct height BUIS on your own?? Obviously, each different optic would probably require different height BUIS. And some will argue Red Dots have become so reliable you don't need BUIS. ??

At least it sounds like it's a great pistol with the RMR fitted. Worst case, Dawson will be able to supply the correct BUIS combos.
IMHO, if it's an 'optic-ready' and RMR is the plate they offer, CZ needs to up their entry in the game by fitting taller sights for the RMR from the get-go.  My optic-ready FNH-FNX-45 came with nice tritium suppressor height sights that work perfectly with a Venom. They offered a special deal with a coupon for a  'free' Venom with gun purchase. But I guess it's impossible to make everyone happy.

I have been trying to carry a P-10c but it is still a little bulky.  A PM-9 is too small.  I am hoping a P-10S OR is just right.
