Cerakote and Duracote are spray on treatments and for all intents and purposes they are just paint. They have a high level of durability but really are not much better than the CZ Polycoat.
Nitride is on a level all it's own and that's what CZ is using on the P-series guns and it's tougher than ANYTHING sprayed on period. Many gun companies are using nitride in one form or another,Sig Nitron,Dan Wesson Duty Coat, Glock Tennifer, S&W Armonite are examples.
My Polycoated PCR has been carried for 10 years and 14,000 rounds now and it shows. The Polycoat is well worn in all the average holster contacts as well as from being cleaned. I haven't carried the P-07 as much but it has been beat around and fired over 10,000 rounds and there is not the slightest sign of wear on the nitrided slide finish.Tough stuff.
