HELP! firing pin install

Hi,
     I took the firing pin out of my 75b and I can't get it back in. Do the flats on the pin, face the top of the slide? The cut out face of the fpb faces the centerline of the slide, correct? I push the fpb down, push the firing pin into the channel, then push a slave pin through the fp retaining hole to keep the fp far enough into the channel so I  can reinstall the fp retaining pin through the slide?

The flat is facing up for the roll pin.
