S2 slide stop sheared in half

After 11.8K rounds the slide stop in my S2 sheared in half. I thought this problem was either solved or lessened in the S2s, but I guess not.

I mostly use a 11lbs recoil spring and maybe that had something to do with the short lifespan.

How often should I be proactively replacing the slide stop? 10K rounds or even less?

It's a sacrificial part. I just keep spares, especially at a match. I've yet to break one, but I wouldn't discard one unless it breaks. Some guys use one for practice and one for matches.

Waiting for my first one to go.  Got the spare in the box.  So far its alot better then the S1 for durability.

Also approaching 10k, but not really counting. Running 115gr at "NATO" spec.

For those who have broken a stop, were you using a buffer?

Yes in my case always used the CZ included buffer.

Welcome to the CZ club my friend.  Slide stop releases breaking are part and parcel to the CZ competition (perhaps beyond that) guns, which includes S1, S2, TS, TSO and CM

Perhaps there is data to show that the slide stop pin (doesn't hold slide open) is superior to the standard slide stop...<shrug>

It's a wear item due to the CZ design. It's not going to last forever. Guys who shoot a lot change them every 8-10K rounds and move along.
