Black Arch IWB initial impressions
« on: September 16, 2019, 07:23:13 PM »
I just received the Black Arch Protos M IWB holster for my G43 and am impressed. Not being a slim guy,(5’ 11”- 220) I’ve always gravitated to OWB holsters.  All previous IWBs I tried were simply uncomfortable.

I ordered it on 8 Sep and received it today. Pretty decent order to receipt time. When It arrived I immediately put it on and holstered my G43 (unloaded) and tried some draws. The holster remained stable and securely held the gun. Access to the grip was unencumbered by the holster.  Most importantly it was surprisingly comfortable.

I’ll report back later after I use it, but thus far am impressed and may buy another for my P10c

I use a single-clip Protos-M to carry my P-07 when I want to be most comfortable and go without a weapon-mounted light.  It is the most comfortable IWB holster I have tried.  That backing material really works good to hold it against your body.  I also have the regular two-clip version, equally comfortable, but I rarely use it because with my belt and gun I don't have any sagging issues, plus single clip is more convenient to put on / take off and to stash away in one of my lock boxes.

Dual-clip Protos-M is actually a lot of holster for a G43 I would think.  I guess it must feel like carrying nothing at all.  I sometimes carry a Sig P290 RS of similar size and weight, but because Black Arch doesn't make a single-clip Protos-M for that, I got a single-clip holster from Hidden Hybrid instead.

In all cases I normally either modify or replace the quick clips or raven clips on these holsters to ride higher and provide a better master grip without interference from my belt line.  I either replace the three-hole clips with two-hole clips or cut the third hole off with a dremel.

Sorry for the delay.

Wore it most of the day yesterday, in car, walking around, at the theater and was very comfortable. Only later in day was I reminded I was carrying.

I’ll be buying another or two
