Paaaaaain points of using Gun Magnets
« on: September 22, 2019, 06:01:01 AM »
I'd like to produce a wonderful Gun Magnet for concealed carry in the car or at the nightstand, just like the amazing Boriqua Leather Holster crafted by Alex. Anyone could tell what's your pain point when using gun magnets? Will see if I can do something to make improvement. Thank you!
May the force be with you & me.

looks like....

I was thinking about magnet holder for myself, but never made it working for me. However I did a lot of research and I did not find any word said that magnet would damage your gun.
Please check this article, it explains everything:

Or nobody has pain points related to them. I have two that I use w/o issue. It's a rubber coated magnet. . .

Thank you. A friend bought TYCTAQ last month and strongly recommended it to me. Have you heard about it:

Yes. I saw it. Most of magnetic holders look the same. So TYCTAQ is like GUNHOLD or DB.
I'm checking reviews of OYSIN which has a little different approach to mount.

Which specs you care most? Design/Compatibility/easy to install/or anything else?  Checked on OYSIN. It only fits flat top handguns and cannot fit EVERY Sigs or 1911s.

Yes, you are right - OYSIN won't work with 1911 style slide, so I won't use it. Looks it's made for Glocks.
What is most important for me? Magnet strength. If I use the magnet my gun eventually will be magnetized, so I'm gonna choose magnet with max pulling force 30 - 35 lb.
Design - flat rectangle with screws or 3M tape. This way I can use it for my CZ and RIA1911 in any space.

Understood. There are different opinions as to whether the gun will get magnetized. The friend I mentioned had bought a 35lbs-rated KEEPER magnet but found it's not strong enough to hold his gun stable when he drove on a bumpy road. So he paid more attention to magnet strength and bought a TYCTAQ. Hill&Wood has 75lbs-rated magnet. That's too much.  40-45lbs make more sense to me.

Thx for advice. Now I know to be careful with 35 lb magnets. I think 40 - 45 lb will be OK for CZ P-01. My RIA1911 stays home, so this one also doesn't need a very strong magnet.
