Will The Supply Of CZ82's Ever Run Out?
« on: October 06, 2019, 11:07:22 AM »
They've been available for years, I've got 4 with #5 due on Tuesday (yes, yes, yet another J$G chipped grip special). They are great pistols, an utter bargain for what they are, fun refurb projects, and truly quality firearms. Having said that, considering the huge number available, one can only surmise that every Czech man, woman and child had at least two of them.

Doing a little research, I found that CZ 82's come in several calibers.  Which do you have?
CZ Compact PCR
Sig Sauer P320
Ruger LCP
Others, etc.

if it is a surplus vz 82, it is 9x18 Makarov

The commercial twin (CZ 83) was offered in 9x17mm (.380), 9x18mm and 7.65 Browning (.32 Auto)

I only have one, but I love it. I can remember when there would be crates of surplus 1911s at gun shows, or years later certain eastern bloc rifles were plentiful. Neither are available in such quantity today, so sure, the supply will eventually dwindle. Now is the time to get one- or get another one.

Eventually, the surplus does dry up. To me, it seems the CZ 82/83 is overlooked by many gun collectors and only now, collectors are starting to get into them.

Mishaco makes a good point about the CZ 82 here in this video.
