Black Nitride from Primary Machine
« on: October 14, 2019, 08:10:20 PM »
Heya
Does anyone have a CZ75 slide finished with Black Nitride (preferable from Primary Machine, assuming there's a disparity between them and other places). I just would like to see a picture comparing it to a black polycoat frame. Thinking of upgrading my P-01 Omega slide with this finish and keeping the frame a polycoat.

My P10C was nitrided by Jaegerwerks, has held up great so far. I have an old 75B I'm restoring, it's going to PM for nitriding soon. As I understand it, PM's nitride is done by H&M(highly regarded). My dealings with PM have been excellent.

Ah nice. Are you able to post pictures once the 75 comes in?

I will, but the frame/slide are currently sitting in paint stripper so it will be several weeks.

I would just get it all done or leave it all polycoat.

Hey Earl, just wondering if the nitride process was ever done. I'm still in a limbo waiting for the right time to buy a Rami BD until I send in my P-01 slide but I am curious how H&M's process looks on a 75.

Unfortunately no, I've been remodeling a house and all of my fun projects have been neglected.

When I stripped and polished an old pre-b 75, paint stripper didn’t touch it. I blasted it off using a soda blaster (uses baking soda) that process removes the poly-coat but does not eat at the metal at all. Had it done in less than a half hour.

Amazon has a soda blaster for $99. Of course you need a compressor.

Thanks, it's actually stripped now, I just haven't had time to work on it.
