Blending the area where trigger guard meets frame
« on: October 14, 2019, 11:32:48 PM »
I'm looking into the 82 and 83.
I enjoy metalwork.

Has anyone thought of (or tried) to blend the metal area at the top of the trigger guard so that it mates up with the frame?

Every time I look at an 82 or 83 I stare and wonder why its like that.

Never thought about it like that. Doesn’t bother me. It’s the disassembly point for the pistol and a little slop might be helpful there? I dunno.

I'm gonna look for a really rough shape 83 so I can slow rust blue it after some metal work.

I debate about changing an artifact of history and think about potentially regretting it later but if I get one that is difficult to look at I don't think I'd end up with any regrets.

There are lots of these out there so you’ll be forgiven for messing with one to see if it can look better in your eyes [emoji6]

It's certainly an ugly duckling as is. I don't think you could make it any worse.

One of historys ugliest guns …...no one will care if youplay with it a little.
if you shoot the gun you never have to look at it from that angle anyway.....so shoot it more.
