Shadow 2 trigger pin falling out
« on: October 20, 2019, 07:38:26 PM »
Shot 2000 problem free rounds through my shadow 2 with no issues. Did a competition yesterday and didnt realize the pin had almost fell out.  Tapped it back in.

Went to the range this morning came back and the pin is backing out again.

What is causing this?

Thanks!

Not sure what’s causing it, probably a wonky pin. Check out the floating trigger pin from Cajun gun works. Much easier to get in and out and it won’t fall out because your trigger return spring holds it in place.

^^ Agreed.

In the event that you need to put the pistol back into service right away, the CZ 75 variant factory Trigger Pin is retained by the flared ends of the pin. You should be able to increase the flare at the end of the pin.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

The free floating pin moves side to side still though.  Might as well just push this in after every stage since I would have to with the free float one as well lol.

I will keep an eye on it and if it gets too crazy I will buy something for it.  I am not sure how to increase the flare on the side if the pin.  It's out of my expertise but I'm sure my armorer can do it.

Indeed, your armorer should be able to take care of it. Just to be clear the CGW Floating Trigger Pin just settles to one side and stays put. They do not come out on their own because the Trigger Return Spring tension retains them. It is part of the design of the pin.

Use the free floating pin from Cajun Gunworks.

If for some reason it is still moving you can use some red loctite on it. I believe Cajun recommends that in some guns (TSO)

I need to come up with something else to buy from them. The shipping is pricey on this little item.

What competition are you running this in?

I have an S2 with a race hammer and a Sao trigger, adjustable sear.

Very nice trigger with that hammer and sear.

It's a beginnners open anything goes. I'm leery of making any modifications. My friend has a shadow 2 with sao trigger and I think competition hammer and it hits the slide when coming back and causes fte and ftf.

The S2 starts out very nice relative to other CZ's.

It's actually the CZ that I have the least mods into that has compared triggers to the rest.

Your friend - not sure what parts they have but they definitely should not be having problems. I'm not understanding their problems but I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of the parts.

If you just wanted parts to justify the shipping costs get some reduced trigger springs. These break and it would be a good idea to get 1 or 2 to keep in your range bag.

Good idea I will pick up some of those springs.

So in this picture the stock slide hits the hammer and the hammer goes down out of the way.  On his the hammer doesnt get of the way as easy or maybe not able to travel down enough but you hit resistance on the slide.  Its noticable by hand even though it semi functions when firing though.

Which competition hammer did he install? There are different models of competition hammer and each have a distinct profile. Some are wider while others are narrower. Some sits lower while others are taller.

By the way, did he remove the disconnector when he installed the SAO trigger?

If I need a part I always order other stuff, too.

A couple extra front sight pins (gonna need them sooner or later).

A couple reduced power trigger return springs (may not need them, but nice to have).

A slide stop (again, may not ever need it, but others report having breakage problems).

Various small pins, springs, odd stuff like a trigger bar, an extractor/pin/spring, etc.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Recoil springs and front sight fiber are some other good add ons to justify shipping cost.
