This is my first post, and I'll be picking up my first CZ on Tuesday -- so take this for what it's worth.

I was facing the same dilemma . I knew I wanted a CZ compact; but there were so many options (75 compact, PCR, P01 and P01 Omega). Fortunately my local range had most of the versions available to rent. If you have the chance to try them out; I strongly suggest doing so.

But what I found was, for my skill level, on that particular day; I shot them all pretty much the same (i.e. really well!). I really expected to dislike the trigger on the P01; but it really didn't matter to me YMMV.

So I ended up getting the P01. I slightly preferred the position of the decocker. The sights on the Omega were a little better; but I intend to replace those anyway. Plus I was able to find a P01 for much less money than the P01 Omega. If they were the same price; I frankly would have bought the Omega; but I would have been VERY happy with either one.

I hope in the spring to send mine off to CGW for the Pro package (which will include the improved trigger), and the lower price of the P01 will help fund that work.

Welcome to the forum!   I'm leaning slightly towards the omega, but it's probably going to come down to which one I get a better price on, new or used.  I don't really think the decocker is going to make that much difference to me either way, and I don't have any use for the ambidextrous decocker anyway.  The sights will be replaced with the TFX Pros either way.  The omega would be slightly easier to work on but I could handle either one.  I'll put a cgw pro kit in either one and the difference in price is only about 20 so that's no big deal.  So when I find the best deal for sale, or the best deal on a trade, on either model, I'll probably take it.

I'd even consider a PCR.  I don't use the rails on any of my other pistols for anything anyway.

So I'm thinking about selling, or trading, my Rami BD for either a regular P-01, or the P-01 Omega.  I'm interested in anyone thoughts about which one to get.  Like what are the differences between the two?  Is there anything that makes one better than the other?  Thanks!
I'm in the same boat, musicman.  For my first compact CZ, it came down to these two models for me as well.  I've decided to get the Omega due to the single action option with thumb safety, mainly because I am a 1911 carrier and prefer a similar manual of arms.  The other reason is because I dearly love the SA trigger on a 75 Shadow I just picked up, and having a compact with a similar trigger seems like the best choice for me.

I'm hoping I can swap the thumb safety on an Omega to one like the Shadow has.

Scratch the PCR.  After doing some research I found out the rear sight cut on the PCR is not the same as the rest of the P75 series.  I'm not sure why CZ did that.  So the PCR is sort of in the same boat as the Rami.  Very few aftermarket sights available for it, besides the factory sights.

There was a time when there were no sight options for the CZ PCR. These days both CZ Customs and Cajun Gun Works both offer custom sight options for the PCRs unique sight cut. So you are limited in your options in comparison to the CZ P-01 but it is not like it used to be.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

No decision yet.  Right now it's down to either a p-01 or a p-07.  The p-01 omega is a little out of my price range right now.

Omega is about $50 more than regular P-01... P-07 definitely cheaper.

I finally took the time yesterday and drove to the LGS.  LOL, not really 'Local', about a 2 hour drive round trip.  Glad I did.  I wanted to get my hands on both the p-01 and the p-07 to see which one felt the best.  They didn't have a p-07, or a p-01 omega.  They did have a p-01 suppressor ready model, which I wasn't really interested in.  I was about to leave when he guy told me that they did have a used p-01, with the case, 2 mags, etc.  One owner, regular customer, low round count, and they had installed a set of mepro night sights right after he bought it.  Wanted 475 for it.  I asked him if they had discounts for senior citizens or veterans.  Since I was both and it was the day after Veterans Day he dropped the price to 400, so I brought it home.  Now to order some thin grips and a set of tfx pros.  CGW pro kit probably next month.  Now if this cold nasty weather will just get out of here so I can get to the range.

Thanks for all the advice, suggestions, and comments!

Great find. I am sure you will enjoy it and excellent price! That supressor ready model they had should have been an Omega BTW.

5 more days till I get my P-01.
I went to a range & rented a P-01, Vp9, P320, and a G19.  Extremely happy that I went with the P-01.  My advice would be to go, or call, local ranges and shoot what you're thinking about purchasing.
Also, for those who are thinking about sending their CZ to CGW, get on the list.  There's a 6 week long waitlist.
