And the waiting begins
« on: November 20, 2019, 02:53:53 PM »
I just sent off my shadow 2 to Primary Machine this morning and I can’t wait to see the results. Big shout out to Bruce for his quick replies in answering my question via email and pm.

This is the weight of my shadow 2 with an empty mag capable of 23 rounds reloadable:

Slide only:

I’ll be posting the after killing pics and weight once the slide comes back from primary machine.

Are you trying to get it below 43oz?

Yup. Carry optics weight limit in USPSA is 45 oz. I’ll be using this as my primary and relegate my sig X5 with the tungsten grip module and gray guns competition trigger kit as my backup.

USPSA Carry Optics is 45oz. Our S2's come in WAY under that, with room to play with.  8)

Yup, I was too excited I made that typo. Corrected it now.

Bruce, I cant wait to get it back and shoot it again. The X5 is good but I like the feel of the shadow 2 better.

That’s a nice-looking shadow 2 you got there.

What color or coating is that?

Just got an email from Primary Machine that my shadow 2 slide had been shipped back to me. Checked the tracking number and should be arriving this Saturday. Can’t wait to get it back and start shooting it again  8).

That’s a very, very quick turnaround. I shipped it on November 20, PM received it on the 22 and they sent me notification that it was shipped December 4. That’s less than two weeks! Great service!

Received my shadow 2 slide from Primary Machine yesterday afternoon. Weigh, took pictures, lube and dry fired it last night and will be going to the range later today and shoot it for the first time.  I’ll be doing Bill and Blake drill on the timer and compare my times against my X5 and see the difference. I haven’t shot in ten days so we’ll see how it goes.. It turn up so nice. The graphite black cerakote matched the polycoat perfectly too.

A big shout out to a Bruce and Primary Machine for their great customer service. By the way, I forgot to mention in my previous posts that they also support our veterans 110% with a very sizable discount and I can attest to that.

Here are some pictures.

Weight was reduced by 3.15 oz from stock configuration. I’m very, very pleased with the results.

Thanks Bruce.

Edit - decided to just stay at home and watch college football instead.

I was finally able to go to the range yesterday and do some shooting and drills with a timer with my shadow 2 and X5. The shadow 2 really felt a lot nicer in my hands compared to the X5. The Henning grips makes it fuller and really keeps my hands stay and grip the gun as hard as I can compared to the tungsten grip of my X5.

The following are the drills I did with both guns.

Overall, I’m really, really pleased with the work Primary Machine has done to my shadow 2. I highly recommend them!! Thanks again Bruce and Primary Machine.

Gun looks great! You're one hell of a fast shooter!! Those times are FAST!

I sent my slide in to Bruce last week, as well. A Shadow 2 with Trijicon SRO will be my first Carry Optics gun, so I'm excited. The machine work looks great on yours!!

It looks like your work was finished in 2 or so weeks? I was quoted 5 weeks for the machine work with Black Nitride finish.
