CZ 75D Compact PCR
« on: November 30, 2019, 03:05:14 PM »
Hi Guys
I just got a brand new CZ75d PCR, (nice gun) I took it to the range and I put 300 rounds through it without malfunctions. However, I got a guy next to me with a CZ 75B full-size. He told me that I have to be careful because the PCR is just for EDC and the CZB is more for range since it has steel frame. This is my question: Is that true? is the B model stronger than the PCR? Should I continue going to the range with my PCR? Thank you.

Where to begin. SMH  Just shot the snot out of the PCR they are great guns and no the frame isn't going to wear out. I think the guy was jealous of your good luck in finding a PCR. I have a PCR, P-01 and a steel framed compact they are a shooters the steel framed model just weights a bit more.

Exactly! Couldn't imagine any firearm used for protection that has not been shot a ton. Only way to be completely familiar and more than competent with a pistol is to shoot it a lot. PCR is a fantastic pistol, enjoy it!

I don’t, I think he was just an ignorant imbecile spewing his lack of knowledge.  Please proceed to shoot your PCR as often and as much as you desire.  You won’t wear it out.  Of this, there is no doubt.

I’ve shot the snot out of my PCR in the short couple of months that I’ve owned it, and the only real worry has been to my wallet.  It made me decide to add a full size as well.

Enjoy.

I've been carrying my PCR for over 10 years and well over 10,000 rounds and it doesn't show the least bit of wear to the frame. Aluminum frames have been used for decades now and they are strong and durable and have been recorded lasting in excess of 100,000 rounds in some cases.
You have purchased what I feel is the perfect all around handgun. Shoot it often and carry it always.

The steel frame "nay" last longer but I doubt many will shoot it enough to find out!

Is the baked on finish more durable than what was used on the CZ-82/83?

I’ve had the PCR over a year but mostly shoot my other guns... Because there are many guns to shoot and several for carry.
