DPM System for TSO
« on: December 01, 2019, 11:28:01 AM »
Saw a good deal for a used one on ebay I couldn't resist and figured Ide give it a try..
so from the mail box straight to the match.. (literally installed on the ride to the match... lol)

running 200GR blue bullets + N320 at 830fps..
TSO + palmswells + Alexrest + big CZC magwell.

First match impressions..

I think the DPM is really made for the 200Gr bullets. I'm not sold yet - but my pairs seemed to be much closer especially on the move - and more side by side - It was a nice hosefest type match with lots of movement.. and I won B class, 135A-32C-1D-0M-0NS-  finished at 89% of the M class division winner.

Breaking this down - I think the 200 grain bullets don't unlock as fast as 180s - so they push more into my wrists - and then DPM catches the slide softly with the 3 springs working together and strips a round and chambers it softly w/o a dip.... I feel like i'm on to something.

the recoil feels a lot like a 40sw 180gr minor load around 150PF or 124gr factory 9mm at 135PF

anyone given the DPM a try in a TS/TSO in 40? opinion?

I almost purchased one awhile back but in reading up on it, I didn't.  Glad you are having success with it.  I be interested in hearing how it fairs with a good amount of abuse.

What OAL are you running with the 200gr Blue Bullets?  Did you throat your barrel in order to run those 200gr blue bullets?  I have to seat my Gallant 180gr bullets deep enough that they just start to bulge cases and I ended up running the factory crimp die to iron out the bulges.  There isn't much room in the magazine to extend the OAL too much.

Cheers,
Toby

I was loading 180gr Blue Bullets at 1.135" and it seemed like the poly coat would make contact in my AA case gauge.. when it came time to load 200s I just left the dies the same as they were so I can hop back and forth from 200 to 180s and back.. and it still seems like the poly coat still makes contact in the same way in the case gauge with both bullets. My barrels are still in stock condition.  I haven't has any problems with a bullet that passed my AA case gauge.

I did have problems with Amce 0.401 180grs.. gave up and went to blue bullet 0.400s.. love them. great shippers. good prices in bulk.
Test Match #2 coming up.

Have one in my .40
Works perfect for me.
Have the special major power edition,
With the sofist spring good for my soft steelplate loads and with the middel spring good for ipsc major power double tabs,
