Standard CZ 75B, cannot drop in new trigger.
« on: December 10, 2019, 12:13:32 AM »
Hello, always appreciated your wisdom for other articles.

I have had a CZ 75B and just bought a SA trigger off the cz custom website. All the information I had garnered from the internet and from friends had suggested that changing the triggers would be a seamless, easy process. It has not been.
After separating the slide and frame, I took out the trigger pin and trigger spring with my punch, and from what I understood from videos as well as friends was that the trigger bar would then lift out of the gun. Which it is not doing.
After a little more digging, I am fairly certain that there is a step I am missing, but uncertain where to go next.

One other thing that I have gleaned is that something has to be done to the firearm to make SA only, if someone could explain or link me some instructions with that, that'd be greatly appreciated.

So, could someone explain to me please what I need to do? I don't dabble in gunsmithing much, but I thought I could handle this much.

In order to convert your 75 to SAO, you'll need to instal the SA trigger and remove the disconnector.  This will involve  more disassembly
of the frame.  Here's a very good video that explains how to do that.  It's for the SP-01, but the procedure is the same.

With no disco, the trigger bars come out without difficulty.

Hey thanks, this has been super helpful!
Just to be completely certain and clear, and apologies if this is a stupid question; the disconnector goes back in afterwards, right?
Also, with the new trigger, I didn't receive a pin to hold the trigger spring in place. What do I do with that?

The disconnector isn't needed for SAO use.

If you ever feel the need to take it apart again you'll appreciate the floating trigger pin from Cajun Gun Works.  Easy to install, easy to remove in the future.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

You can install the trigger spring pin without a slave pin. Use needle nose pliers to hold and position the spring.  There's a video on Youtube that shows this.  I easily installed 3 trigger spring pins using this method. I don't remember which video it was.

The disco does not go back in.
