Wheel guns
« on: December 31, 2019, 09:11:30 AM »

baby names that start with aq

I worked over time all summer and bought some vintage revolvers.

Here's what they call a 5 screw .22.  Sweet shooter.

That's a beaut! K22 Masterpiece? You going to show the other five on the rack behind it? Looks like a whole lot of OT worth.

Haha, that's the idea, show off some old shootin irons and share some thoughts.

Note on the .22, it has the speed hammer.

That is a good looking revolver!  Very interested in seeing the other five.  Keep the pics coming.

Never shot the .22 model.  I had a buddy in college that would bring his dad's M14 6" .38 special down so we could go shooting.  I have never shot a more accurate revolver than that old M14.  My 586 is good, but not quite that good.

Always said that if I ever ran across one at a gun show I'd have to buy it.  Then, over the years, I pretty much quit shooting revolvers, so I don't even look for them anymore.

A nice/slick S&W is tough to beat when you're looking for a pleasure to shoot.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

This shot shows some features of this gun.  The lines on the back strap show the age.  New ones have more.
Counter bored chambers.  Case hardening on the speed hammer.

This gun has a frame mounted firing pin.  I'd guess that's so the face of the cylinder isn't struck and damaged by the firing pin
if dry fired.

Lots of mis-fires with Federal Auto Match, but runs great with any other ammo. Go figure.

Did somebody say Model 14?

At 10 yards soda cans are a piece of cake.  Older, it has a pinned barrel. Target stocks, hammer and trigger.

You can see the pin in the top strap right above the forcing cone.

pinned barrel too makes up those nicer guns.

Am a huge revolver fan with 4” M15, M627 pro, M625 JM, M686-4+, M63, 2 “ M64-2, 3” M24  and a 3” GP 100 WC. Have shot them all in competition and have a hoot. Some may say wheel guns are old school and are obsolete need to watch Jerry Michelek.

I've got one about that size.  N frame 4" barreled .357 magnum.  But mine has no adjustable rear sight, just a groove down the top of the frame.  Seems like they called that one a M520.  I never have shot that gun.  Not sure how well it shoots.  Has those skinny little grips on it.  Not sure if they're okay on a bigger/heavier N frame or if it would need some better/bigger grips if I was going to shoot it a lot.

Some nice wheelies here!
That video of Jerry placing 6 shots on 3 separate targets, reload, and six more.... all in under 3 seconds. Mind warping!!

Did you say, Jerry?  On the barrel this gun says; "45 CAL MODEL OF
 1989"

.45 ACP from moon clips.  And NO, I can't soot like Jerry!
