Hello friends, until two months ago, I'd never touched a CZ. Just never had one fall in my lap even tho I've been hand-gunning pretty much my whole life. I've shot some of the best and a few clunkers but never a CZ, that changed due to my wife...odd huh? The story might be a tad long so get a fresh cuppa.

The Fall of 2018 my wife kinda hints that she thinks we have a few too many guns (gasp!) and I should sell some..(you know what they say;..if you keep your wife happy she'll leave you alone..) So I proceed to "cull the herd"..breaking up the Beretta Set and a SIG or two, gave the Browning to the son-in-law and dumped a couple of Rugers. She was with me for some of the sales and despite her actively shooting with me regularly she had never been with me when I sold anything. The first thing she said (after she lightened my wallet) was that she'd never realized how well guns held their value...hmmmm, okay....

Wife and I used to go to a lot of auctions until we just lost interest a couple years back but last November I saw an Ad for a "Crap" Auction with a couple of firearms thrown in. Remember now, I'm prohibited from buying more guns so I don't even look at the gun pictures but, there's a knife that I want in one of the boxes so we go. They had a couple of long guns and eight or so handguns, a shotgun and a mountain of Crap Boxes ... wife will be happy digging through 'em.

The Auctioneer is someone we know and he's notorious for getting top dollar for crap and a hundred bucks more than retail for guns. So I figure this is a done deal and I'll just wait for my knife to hit the block and we can git.

Well, the first gun up was a Henry Lever .22 NIB with a low Serial. The bidding stalls at $225 and the rifle sells. I turned to the wife and told her there was $400 bucks left in that. She says, well why didn't you bid???...that's when I realized she was schizophrenic.

So, I asked her which ones she thought I should buy because I hadn't looked at any, she says "that little one...it's cute" so, we get a NIB S&W Air-weight 442 .38+P for $285...not bad, about $65 bucks off of retail. Next up was a CZ (can't remember the model) but it sells at a low enough price to get my attention again (I'm thinking, hey there's something wrong here.. maybe this isn't a gun buying crowd..).

I know what a well made automatic looks like and about what they sell for regardless of the make so, I'm ready to take a shot in the dark.... Next up was a NIB 75-b Omega Convertible, Suppressor Ready (2)18+1 Mags. and Tritium Lamps....bidding stalls at $325 and I get it. The wife asks how much money was left in it and I have to tell her I don't know...but I do know that Suppressor Barrels are spendy.

Next, a few long guns then another NIB S&W, a SD9VE 9mm which gets bid up to retail and I get suckered into it but remember,... I hadn't researched anything and I thought it was an M&P. Then a funny little CZ gun that had sand-paper grips that nobody liked but me, it fit my hand perfectly. The bidding stalls at $235 and I get a 2017 NIB 1st gen. CZ P-10 C in FDE /Black Slide, glow sights, (2) 15+1 mags and Ambi. mag releases (they work fine). I actually like the Sand Paper Grips, professionally installed.

So, we leave the auction with a couple of Crap Boxes (actually, the wife has a good eye, some of that "Crap" is valuable.) and we head home with 4 NIB handguns for less than $1100. When we get to the house, the daughter and son-in-law are there and they help unload. The son takes one look and recognizes the CZ boxes and when we get 'em open, he starts telling me all about 'em. I asked how he knows that stuff and he tells me; from a Role Playing Game called "Call of Duty". So he leaves for ten minutes and comes back after talking with a friend on the phone and asks if I'm keeping them all. I told him, "everything but the 75 Omega" which is too heavy for my old, tired ass..(when did everything get so heavy..?) Anyway, he gets the 75, that's only the second time in my life that I've sold a gun without shooting it.

Anyway, the wife is happy with her newly expanded crap collection, the daughter is happy, the son-in-law is very happy and I got some "Hole Fillers" for the gun safe....I'm happy. Hope you enjoyed the blabber. -Boomer

It's funny how things work out, I mentioned how the Son-in-law recognized the CZs right? Well I had asked him if he wanted to go w/ to the auction (We probably woulda bought all of the CZs if he'd been there...)  but, he had other plans which, as it turned out, fell through. Timing is everything... :(
