Best tutorial
« on: January 16, 2020, 07:06:40 PM »
 Two things
Several months ago I basically got the pro package for a spo1 minus the sear and hammer as I need to save money right now and the single action was the least bothersome thing on it. Whats the best tutorial for doing this?

Also the gun has about 100 rnds to it and it no longer fires. This is before any work. Every thing seams right but no bang. I assume its the firing pin but not sure. Ive worked a lot and just now gearing back to this project. Should I track the problem down now or just start doing the kit and hope this takes care o the problem or I see the problem as its apart?

For "no bang" issue do simple "pencil test"
Use regular H2 pencil with rubber end.
Cock the hammer, point the muzzle up, put the pencil into the barrel with rubber end then pess the trigger.
The pencil should jump at least 1 inch.
However be careful, sometimes it jumps few feet  :)

You can also press firing pin from back and check if the tip comes out from the channel.

Now you will have some idea what may be wrong with pistol.

TY. Did it with spo1,nothing. Did it with the beretta, jumped several feet. Didn't make me feel good since this gun is almost new. Is it common?

Is it common?

Not common at all  :-\
Press pin from the back and see if the tip comes out at the front.
This is how does it look:

Firing pin released:

Firing pin pressed:

I see something moving in there but it doesnt come out of the hole. Since I have the short reset (srs-1) It has a new firing pin, shouldn't I start replacing with what I have and hope that fixes it? I just didn't know if their pic tutorial was the best way to go.

Compare original and new pin. I'm not sure what exactly new firing pin does in srs1 kit....

I use CGW firing pin in my Omega, this one is just a little bit longer (which is good for me)
