2A Sanctuary in NJ -Value ?

      In New Jersey, on Jan 14th 2020, The Cape May County Herald reports that the Cape May County Freeholders passed a resolution designating Cape May County as a "Second Amendment / Lawful Gun Owner Sanctuary".

      While I applaud the efforts of my local political leaders, and hope that others may follow; I am skeptical that this can effectively shield gun owners from The State of New Jersey's efforts to diminish and/or dismantle the 2nd Amendment.
     Governor Murphy, his supporters, and his State Police have continually displayed their disdain for those rights of the People, and I can only  hope for them to be voted out in favor of an administration that follows our Constitution and the oath they swore to defend it.

    I realize that municipal and county "resolutions" lack the teeth to effectively countermand state or federal legislation, but at least there is some documentation that indicates the sentiment of the local populace.
    The battles over individual and collective rights will continue well past my demise (I'm an old codger) but I still believe in the principles set forth in our founding documents. At times I wonder if our politicians have even read them.
