DA won’t reset on Sphinx AT 2000s
« on: February 03, 2020, 06:04:15 PM »
Last year a scored a good deal on a 2000s, mainly I believe because it was listed as SAO.  Since all of the 2000s’s were DA/SA and the mechanics are very similar to CZ i figured it was an easy fix.  There is no pre travel screw on this so that’s not why it’s not resetting,  it resets by pulling back on the hammer just a bit.  It’s an audible reset before half cock, what do you guys think?

So that i am clear, have you converted an SAO to DA/SA configuration and after doing so encountered this issue?

I have no personal experiences with any of the Sphinx pistols. Going off of my knowledge of CZ 75 variant pistols it sounds like the trigger is not making it forward far enough to allow the DA to reset. You stated that there is no DA pre-travel set screw present. If this were a CZ i would be looking at a way to allow the trigger more forward travel. The fist option that comes to mind is altering the triggers forward stop. This could be accomplished by fitting the trigger or frame.

I am not aware of how this pistol model may differ from a 75, establishing any differences before proceeding might be of value.

I am also interested to hear the input of other forum members.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

The GB listing for the pistol was “SAO”, it came with a factory DA/SA trigger in it just wasn’t resetting so they either assumed it was SAO or knew that it only functioned in SA so they listed it as such.  The trigger will reset by slightly pulling back on the hammer.  With no pre travel screw, I figure I will have to modify the trigger or the disco but thought someone n here would have ran into something similar even on a CZ since they are so similar.
