For the last 30+ years, I have used either Hornady "DriLube" or Remington "DryLube" to lubricate my magazines. The Lubricant goes on wet, then the carrier evaporates and leaves behind a dry lube. I use either on all of my mags, (rifle, pistol, SS, steel, aluminum or polymer), after a thorough cleaning, reinstall the follower then springs, hose down the inards well, reinstall the base plates and turn upside down to drain and dry. I have eliminated almost 100% of my mag issues since I started this regimen. I've never had an issue with either lube damaging the followers or polymer base plates. I don't know what the liquid volatile carriers are but use with plenty of ventilation, no open flames and protect from skin exposure.
