I retired after 26 years in 2008.  It's the single best thing I ever did.

My dad was with the PD for 37 years and 8 months and would never have retired had my mother not pressed him to give it up so they could travel in their final years. He did enjoy his time once he finally got out. Good thing he did too as he only had 7 years left after retirement.

I miss the money, and some of the people....I don't miss the job.

Hobbies.  Stuff you enjoy doing.

I'm not retired LEO (did it for 4 years, or so, about 35 years ago) but you need fun hobbies to keep you busy/engaged.

We used to talk about, at work, how many guys retired after 30/35 years and then we'd see the announcement that they'd died from something or other within 2 or 3 years of retiring.

You've got to have a LIFE you want to live and enjoy.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I retired in January after 25 with the State and 2 with the county. I had enough. Now I just sit back and watch the societal dumpster fire.

I didn’t retire from LE but I retired from the military after 21 years. I miss the travels/visits of different countries around the world but not the long deployments away from my family.

I retired back in Dec 2011 and enjoying every minute of it. Like my kids said, I have too many expensive hobbies that are keeping me occupied.

Retired Sept. 3rd 1996 after 25 years.  The only thing I miss are those magic words " I need to see your driver's license and proof of insurance."  I would only need 5 minutes at a time. I forgot how many people need a refresher course on driving. ;D

I have a little under 7 years to be eligible; I am excited to be at the point of possibility.

the career is flying by...hasn't always been positive, but overall, a good ride.

Retired 12/1/18 from full time...now a part time SRO.

I'm only 48, so I miss the fun stuff...once my youngest graduates high school next year, I'll probably go back full-time somewhere.
