So I recently bought a CZ 97BD with the intention of making it the first CZ I completely tear down, polish and upgrade with CGW parts. I have an SP01 that's been to CGW for a pro package install and optics cut and a PCR there now for the same treatment. I figured it was about time to learn to do the polishing and kit install myself, both to save money and time and also to learn the gun and improve my gun tinkering confidence. Using YouTube vids and the gunsmithing forum here it was a snap. After a good polish I ended up installing the CGW pro package and an 11.5 lb hammer spring. My DA is now 6lbs 3oz and my SA is a crazy nice 2lbs 11oz (sadly I don't have before measurements). Wow. It shoots like a dream. It'll be used for steel plate and fun range stuff. I highly recommend trying out a do it yourself CZ project. If I can pull it off without too much angst anybody can. And hell, if you break any bits and pieces replacements can always be found at CGW or CZ Custom or Numrichs. And CGW is quick to answer any email questions or pleas for help you send their way 😉
